    Drg Jump: Barone worth

So for the longest time (Befor it was shown Af feet are worthwhile) I never really bothered with specific Jump gear. I just smacked in Barone.

Basically decided it's time I stop being a gimp and get a proper jump set. I used to dimiss STP sets for drg not worth it "with meditate, Jump TP boosts, and taking enemy hits etc", but I'm now moving away from that. And basically, I'm wondering: Is 2TP from Barone (4 with body) with it more worthwhile than gearing for damage (such as Aurum Cuisses or such)?
Similar question regarding body. Would Barone's 2TP be better than other Str/Vit/Dex/Acc/Whatever options (Like AF+1 or Zahaks)?

Unless you're /Dnc, or the extra 2/4 TP is going to make or break an x-hit build of some kind, it won't be doing anything for you. Depends on the rest of your gear and SJ. I just gear for Damage options in those slots since I already have a faux Drg 6-hit (no Rajas on my alt), and have a special macro for barone jumps if I wiff massively on Penta and need the extra TP.

To put it simply, it shouldn't, generally.

Basically, because you can't jump between every single WS, you shouldn't be set up so that you're regularly going to be at 98-99 tp without the bonus anyway.

Theoretically you may be able to adjust your gearing somewhat to get a little more damage during the tp rounds in which you do jump, but it's going to depend on how you're built, which you didn't really give us any info on heh.

I wouldn't bother with Barone legs. I've been trying them out for my Jump set, but find that I'm missing a lot of ACC. I prefer AF+1 Legs since they provide 9ACC.

Occasionally you can turn a 6 hit into a 5 hit with a combination of 2x barone, skystrider and getting hit a couple times. Personally, I don't bother with it, but it's mostly because I don't have cash for conte or the initiative to get a skystrider.

So dumping Barone pieces in favour of Jump damage boosting ones, what body/leg pieces do you/would you use?

Also, I'm guessing High Jump doesn't have a similar Vit mod to jump, so are people just using something similar to their WS set?

That, and when you /sam using meditate, or simply getting hit, can all possibly bring you to 98 or 99%. You will have to experience it yourself. I use skystrider for a while and found that in between jump, high jump, and full meditate after Drakesbane, I was often at 98 or 99%. So I added barone into both my jump and high jump macro and I rarely see myself at 98 or 99% anymore.

Note that I have a true 6 hit build. I just think Drg is the one melee job that benefit the most from extra TP aside from a X hit build simply because of jumps.

On Personally barone body + wyrm leg for high jump and for regular jump I use Ares body + barone, pre ares though I did use both barone on jump since for solo mainly you can't guess where your tp going to be unlike /sam in pt.

I use my Barone in jumps because with those and Meditate, I do enjoy doing back-to-back Pentas(No Drakes yet ;., and puts a smile on my face when Angon goes with'em.

And if you were gearing just for jump damage and not using Barone, what would you use?
Aurum legs look like a good option for Jump, (and would keep Wyrm for HJ), and for body? Ares is the best choice for jump obviously, but baring that, AF+1 body? or something with more acc like n.body? And for HJ, n.body aswell?

    It Depends~

If you're using Askar Body and Love Torque, you will run slightly under a 6 hit build if you use Ares Cuirass for jumps, due to losing the Store TP on the body. This is remedied by using the barone legs to make up for the Store TP deficit.

Honestly, it's entirely dependant on your other gear options.

Drakesbane w/ Askar Body, Rajas, Brutal would put me at 99% TP if I jumped in Ares Body and Aurum Legs.

And yeah, as far as I can tell, there's no VIT mod on High Jumps.

There are situations where many choices of gear are viable options, for optimizing damage your gunna need to tell us what you have/use specifically if you want them to be able to suggest options for it; even then there is a limit to just how much most people are willing to do to optimize damage in each and every available situation. It just depends on what gear you have access to and how much effort your willing to put in to make separate macros and builds to suit each one. For my self i'm more worried about landing my jumps so I tend to focus far more on acc than damage mods.
