Dual wield & TP gain multiple choice question.

Please pick the # that will reach 100% TP first.

All hits connect for at least 1 dmg. No effects on the character other than Job traits and 8/8 dagger merits.

It would also be helpful to list the #s from fastest to slowest and why.

Thanks for helping me finally put this to rest.

    1. CORSAIR/NIN lvl 75
    Main - Jambiya
    Sub - Mercurial Kris
    Ear1 - Suppanomimi
    Ear2 - Brutal Earring

(examples given are for ease of understanding, not representing optimal set ups) And if there's a faster combination with these items ie: Jambiya in Sub, or feel like adding more into the mix to help explain things (haste, effects, different subjob, store tp equipment, Joyeuse and Mercurial kris combos, or NINJA as main job) please demonstrate in detail.

Unless you're planning on using daggerskill. Always mainhand your Mkris. You'll get more TP

COR/RNG Mkris and Brutal, because all hits landing is unrealistic. If you are, and have capped WS accuracy at 100TP as well (hi Martial Gun), sub WAR instead.

Suppa theoretically has no effect on TP gain rate, right? Your delay goes down, but your TP per hit goes down proportionally such that TP gain rate should remain exactly the same. Any gain or loss in TP gain rate would simply be due to rounding, right?

Correct me if I am wrong.

TP per hit is not precisely proportional to delay; TP gain rate may rise or fall from Dual Wield depending on truncation error.

Brutal does next to nothing for 3-hit weapons. It's like an 0.2% increase in swings if they indeed normally average at 1.9 swings per round. You can probably find something better.

Suppa would actually increase your tp gain if you are /nin and dual wielding as the dual wield effect lowers the dual wield delay but not the delay of the weapons themselves. I believe the fastest in your hypothetical situations however would be single handing merc kris with the brutal

This is standard, so I'll just say no, Suppa actually reduces weapon delay. The TP gained is theoretically exactly the same before rounding, as it lowers your tp gain per hit by almost (remember rounding) exactly the same amount as it increases the rate at which you attack.

TP gain actually goes up as your delay goes down (most of the time, anyway), and under 180 delay is where it really starts to shine. If you're using any two daggers outside of Harpe-class options you should be under this threshold even without a Suppanomimi. With the daggers from the OP for example, your delay delay would be about 167ish for each hand before Suppanomimi, around 157 with, and for completeness's sake about 151 with Suppanomimi and the proper augmented body.

This chart from the other wiki is about the best I've found to get across exactly what delay does for TP gain. Always keep in mind that when you're talking about Dual-Wield that your delay is calculated for each hand and not as a single larger delay weapon.

Wow I didn't realize it got that high that fast, I guess that explains why my nin can out-tp my war if my war's not using mutli-hits even with the extra bit of da.
