smoking question

Disclaimer: I have minimal smoking experience. I have casually smoked a hookah from time to time, and tried a couple regular cigarettes and was not a huge fan. Is there anything that combines the portability of cigs, with a milder hookah like smoke? (that Obama hasn't made illegal)

Not that I know of. One of the reasons why hookah smoke is so mild is because the smoke passes through the water first cooling it and filtering some of the larger particles out. I guess if you consider a water pipe or a bong portable then that would be your answer but they are not as portable as a cigarette.

Personally when I was smoking I did not like cigarettes much but I did like Bidi's I found them to be more mild then cigarettes smoke wise but not nearly as mild as a hookah.

Sorry to add to my thing, one time my friend added some pipe tobacco to the hookah, and it was still tolerable, so idk if that make a difference.

Yeah that is because the majority of why the hookah is so smooth is how it works not the type of tobacco that you put in it. One time my cousin put ice water in the hookah and it made it even better.

Any tobacco shop will sell flavored tobacco that you can roll your own cigs with.

Is that what you're looking for?

I wouldn't even know where to begin with that, as I said my experience is between little and none.

Depending on what you mean by portability (walking with it, smoking in your car, etc.) and where you'd be planning to smoke it, there's at least one portable hookah that I know of that's not that bad. It's called the Leila, and the only place I know for sure that sells it is hookah-shisha.com

Like it's been said though the only reason hookah smoke is "mild" compared to anything else is because it's filtered through the water, but also because the majority of shisha brands are washed tobacco. Take a washed tobacco shisha like Hookah-Hookah and an unwashed tobacco shisha like Tangiers and you'll see a huge difference in the feel of the smoke. I doubt you'll really find anything as portable as cigarettes to satisfy your needs in this situation.

I don't intend to make much of a habit out of it, but I can't smoke at my house, and the hookah lounge is expensive so I thought if there was a more convenient alternative it would be nice. I mean I only do a hookah once a week at most, so I'm not worried it'll turn into a 3 packs a day kinda thing.

I always remember bidi's being super harsh because of the whole non filter thing. They do give a good head rush though.

Instead of water pipes, you can get those plastic filters you see some people use, I believe some of them are even water filters. You will look like a complete douche, but I think the hookah fad makes people look like douches, so to each is own.

Meh, didn't feel like reading all the posts but I'll throw something down for ya anyways. I think the best medium you can find between the two is just getting a bubbler or a bong. Of course it's not as portable as a cigarette but I don't think there's really anything as portable as a cigarette that is less harsh than it. I guess you can smoke Ultra Lights or something if you want. Hand-Rolled tobacco and Bidis are better tasting than Cigarettes but have a harsher taste.

So pretty much there isn't anything, maybe that's why so many people smoke cigarettes, haha.

It's much more time intensive, but a small pipe might be what you're looking for. I've seen a few in antique and vintage shops lately. They're about half the size of a regular pipe and are only good for a few puffs, plus you get to sample all the nice pipe tobaccos around.

If you're only wanting to have a smoke every so often, splurge for premium cigarettes. I'm going to presume you're living in the US, but if you happen to live in Canada give Belmonts a try. They use a charcoal filter, and the tobacco is quite nice.

Hand rolled, unfiltered cigarettes are, in my experience, quite a bit harsher than standard filtered ones. However, pouch tobacco (ie. the kind you make hand rolled out of) tends to be of much higher quality than what you would get in a factory smoke from the same brand. For example, in Canada's Player's are not good cigarettes, but Player's pouch tobacco is very nice.

This would probably be your best bet. You can get a bubbler smaller than the size of your hand and buy some flavored tobacco at a tobacco shop near you. I have gotten a bubbler, albeit a hideous one, for $20. The two drawbacks: You'll need to fill it before you leave of bring a bottle with you; you'll look like you're smoking pot.

This is the worst fucking afterschool special I have ever seen. Good thing most smokers never thought to try the "I won't do it very often so I probably won't get addicted" method.
