The difference is that these are livestock, which means that by law they are supposed to be slaughtered in as humane a way as possible without costing too much.(this is why when you see peta members go under cover and discover pigs being strangled with a chain as they are pulled up by a forklift slowly that these companies can be taken to court for animal abuse and have the death of the animals reviewed by veterinarians to determine whether or not animal cruelty actual took place) A cat is not livestock, it is not eaten by me you or 90% of the members of this board that is why we are able to look upon this topic with disdain. I am opposed to this because it was an innocent animal probably someones pet, it was not killed for sustenance it was killed for entertainment purposes which should be viewed negatively by everyone that posts here. The argument is not the difference between killing a cat and killing a cow the difference is between killing something meant to become food and killing something that you are going to leave as a bloody charred corpse on the sidewalk for some family to stumble upon wondering what happened to a pet that they see as being a part of their family.

Edit: also i have worked on a farm, i can understand being fond of pigs/cows and whatnot but chickens are retarded and the easiest animal to be okay with slaughtering as they are stupidest living things i have EVER come into contact with, even a 2 month year old baby is more self aware.
