In remembrance of the 2993 people that were killed in a terrorist attack, people are wearing Red, White, and Blue today.
Do you remember what you were doing when America was attacked?

i was in school in history class, learning about the France vs british war, when new England was born
A little ironic but yeah
I was in middle school that was a long time ago @_@
I was sleeping off a hangover.
I was leaving my Music Appreciation class at UAB when my buddy got a call to check out CNN, we went to the Hill University Center and saw the coverage as it happened.
Yeah, I was home drinking coffee and watching the Today show. They were showing footage of what they thought was a small airplane crash into one of the World trade center towers. Then out of nowhere the second plane crashed. I could believe what I just saw on Live TV.
I'll never forget that, ever.
I was sitting in my room about to leave for class when I saw a news alert. I turned it to the channel just in time to see the second plane hit. When I got to class, they were just reporting the pentagon crash. The teacher turned off the TV and about half the class left in protest.
I was in gym class. 9th grade. Walked into history class and my teacher had the TV on, first thing he said to us was "Shut the fuck up everyone, whatever's going on, it's important!"
I was in Calc class in 11th grade. I remember trying to get in touch with my Aunt and Uncle but couldn't get through. I will never forget her soot drenched clothing when I saw her a few hours later. Shit was unreal.
Going home from the school bus, the radio was covering the attack. (9-10am US time = 3-4pm UK time)
At the time I was a bit naive. I actually went up to the bus driver asking him to change the radio channel to something with music instead of (what I thought) generic news (these were school coaches). He shouted at me (but not too loud) saying this (the attack) was important to him as it was his brother in the area at the time on some flights.
Of course I still didn't know what was going on until I got home and saw all the repeated footage of the 2 planes slamming into the towers.
Then it got worst.
I was in class (9th grade) and we were watching it on TV trying to discuss and make sense of what was going on. Then we saw the second plane hit out of nowhere, and the teacher became noticably scared, which scared all of the students. For the rest of the day students kept getting pulled out of school early because the parents were scared.
My grandmother came and got my brothers/sisters/cousin a few hours before school ended, then came and got me later, 5 minutes before the end of the school day (my grandmother treated me like the Meg Griffin of the family).
I was opening up the EB I was working at. We actually had some people upset and yelling at me over the fact that the shipment of Advance Wars for the GBA was delayed because the UPS driver was late getting to the store.
I walked up form the parking lot with my ex-boyfriend, discussing the first plane hitting the tower. By the time we made it to class, the 2nd plane had hit. A bunch of guys in our class were EMTs, and their pagers started going off.
When class ended, we walked outside the building (you can see the NYC skyline from the campus) and watched the smoke plumes.
We went back to the music building (where our classes were) and they were listening to the radio in the lobby- everyone: students, faculty, administrators.
A few hours later, we came back to the same place, and instead of seeing smoke from the towers, there was just smoke.
I wound up with a bunch of other friends at my friend Jody's apartment. We ordered in pizza and spent the next several hours just watching the news in awe.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and the few days after were weird, as I live under a heavy flight path to Newark Liberty and JFK, and they were redirecting planes around the city and weren't allowing fly-overs. I'd been so used to hearing the random roar of jets overhead, it was very strange how quiet it had become.
I was a senior in college. I woke up just after the 1st plane crashed into Tower 1, walked out of my room to get in the shower when my housemate said to turn on the news.
When I did, I saw live footage of the 2nd plane slamming into the other tower. The rest of that day was just awkard...morning classes were still going on, but when the nation got word of what was actually happening the afternoon classes were canceled.
Tons of us were huddled around our TV watching coverage for hours. That night we decided to blow off some steam at the local bar, and people were getting drunk and emotional, saying they were going to drop out of school, join the military, and fuck up the people that did this. It was craziness.
I was in an art class when the teacher received a call to turn on the TV, and we saw the second plane hit. A lot of students were pulled out by their parents. My aunt was in the towers the day before the planes hit.
I was working as a landscaper at the time. We just left a Wawa and heard Stern talking about a plane hitting a building on the radio.
Then we went to drop off some scrap metal at a local junkyard. Some one in a local apartment yelled out their window to us that "the pentagon was just blown up".
After that we called it a day and went back to my bosses house just in time to see the second tower fall.
Think I just woke up, or finished a morning class at FAMU. Saw the news, class was cancelled. Don't really remember that day well anymore. Aaliyah had died just a few weeks back, so this was quite a trying year, although it was supposed to be a happy time since I was a college Freshman.
Eight years ago, that's crazy. I've flown since a little youngster, back when Delta used to give me those pins and let me meet the captain. Now, I can't bring my own beverage in to drink. Times have changed.
I was driving to the hangar when I heard it on the radio. When I got to the Ready Room, everyone was in there watching it all happen. Then the we started making phone calls to recall everyone who was on leave...
I was sleeping when the first plane hit and my father called me and woke me up and my then girlfriend (now wife) and I woke up and turned on the tv and watched the life footage as the second plane hit and the towers collapsed. We were living in San Luis Obispo at the time. Didn't do anything for the rest of the day really. Oh freshman in college at the time.
