if this isnt the appropriate section feel free to move it, but i couldnt think of anywhere better than here... I'd LOVE to see her get in the top 32 even if she doesnt win (top 32 entries get destroyed on stage in an awesome display)

I hate it when people do this. Don't tell us to vote for your friends art. If his art is good then it will get votes. Point us to the website, even point us to his art, but don't tell us we have to vote for your friend.

Really if his art is good it will get votes on its own, and if there is better art then the better art deserves votes over his.

I was not being a dick for the sake of being a dick. The op posted in a way that was rude, pretentious and assumes we are going to vote for his friend. He didn't post asking for us to check out the website and oh by the way my friend has art on there, here is the link vote for it if you like.

He told us to go vote for his friend and then proceeded to tell us how to vote for his friend multiple times. This makes it come of as rude hence the reactions.

Also like I said in my original post if his friends art is good then he shouldn't need to tell us to vote for it, the best art will win based on its merit as a piece of art. To try to sway the votes away from that purpose is stupid.

Yeah I wasn't saying to purposely vote against the artist or email the judges I was just responding based on my first post. And I stand by what I said. Though I want to make it clear I don't mind people posting things like this, just the fashion that it is usually done is rude. I would not go out of my way to vote against the artist in the OP or email the judges.

While the intentions might have been an authentic desire to support a friend, I agree it is not a good idea to falsify votes or tell people to do so for your friend. The person's art can speak for itself and we can decide on our own without having to cheat or blindly agree it should win because we were told to do so.

Perhaps your kind request for people to please take a look and decide on their own, would be the most honest way in which your friend could earn a vote for her art.

I only really want to get her in the top 32, thats all the voting is for, the actual competiton is based on the audience at the event and nothing more (aka she wont win anything just by being voted for), and yes i'm 100% sure that other people, and their friends are doing the exact same thing, $3500 is a decent chunk of change lol ive only honestly voted 3 times (even though i have multiple email addresses, infinite even with gmail) but i dont really condone that type of thing

yea that star wars one is pretty killer lol if i wasnt voting for friends that would definetly have got my votes, its actually a biblical picture (but with star wars characters) i think, but im not 100% sure what it was called...

edit: i really could care less if you vote, but if some people who are bored do, then thats awesome, or if you go there and find a piece of art that you like and vote for it, idc lol... you can even buy these, but i dont think you can buy the ones that make it in the competion (like im sure the star wars one will)
