Hey BG, my father has come to me to help him build a new pc and while I consider myself knowledgeable about the current hardware, I'm sure many of you can help me out. He wants something under 1,000 and he wants it to be as fast as possible but of course the lower the price the better. He doesn't need a gaming machine but he has stated he doesn't want integrated graphics and wants the option of upgrading in the future. He's already told me he wants an i7 and more than 4gb of ram; I do have 64bit win7 for him.

This is what I've come up with on newegg in very short time. He doesn't need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, drives, or a HD (reusing his 320gb one from his current pc, but i was thinking of getting him a ssd for boot). I was looking at power supplies, and I have the corsair 520hx modular and I love it, and was wondering if I should bother with a modular for him. Was looking at this one: Antec BP550 Plus 550W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.2 Modular Active PFC Power Supply - Retail over the corsair below. Any guidance is appreciated.
