Need a monitor on 200 bucks!

As the title suggests I need as much bang-for-the-buck as I can get with 200 bucks. Looking for something around 21+ inches, not plasma, and needs a stand that can tilt forward (monitor sits higher than I do). I found an amazing one with a crazy contrast ratio, backlit, 2ms respones, but the fucker had a "ring stand". I woulda got it but I can't change the fact that the monitor will sit higher than me, its just the way this desk is built and it was a rather expensive desk...

Currently looking at this one: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...38551&CatId=12

How much of a tilt do you need? If it's only a small angle you could always just put something towards the back of the ring to give it the tilt you need.

I thought about something like that but I'd have to do something retarded like tether the top two corners to the wall so it doesn't topple forward... Doesn't have any mounting holes in the back either so I cant use this old mount I have...

I just purchased the monitor mentioned in the OP this weekend. It seems like the best price -anywhere- for a 25" 1080p monitor, think the promo code got it to $169.99 with free shipping. Sadly I can't tell you how it is though as I haven't gotten it in yet ;<

I saw an LG one for 70000:1 contrast ratio what's the difference? It is a smaller screen though only 20 inches.

I would prefer it look prettier than 5 more inches tbh if thats the case but i'm not too sure

I saw a similar monitor at Fry's. I'm torn between the following:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824005126

Promo through newegg. Coupon allows 10% off.

    And:

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+...&skuId=9777681

Both have a 2 MS response time. One is an LED backlit monitor. I've been told that Dynamic Contrast Ratio is something you should be taking with a huge bucket of salt.

Which do you all thing is the better bet? The LG (I'd have to snag it tonight/tomorrow) or the Samsung?

No HDMI port on this, in case that's relevant to your interests.

slightly I'd like something with an HDMI and a DVI but it's not too relevant. Everything that's decent I've seen with HDMI and DVI is over 200

I've got a pair of these and love them. They don't have a lot of tilt, but I also have my monitors raised on a floating shelf well above my desk and haven't had a problem. I guess it depends on how much tilt you need. You could always take the above advice to put something under the back to add tilt (though make sure you counterbalance it).

Of course I'm a size queen. My wife's monitors are giving her some grief so she's probably gonna take my pair and let me upgrade.

I'm currently looking at the ASUS VW266H 25.5" that I think someone suggested in a previous monitor thread. If anyone else has suggestions of monitors in the 26-28" range at sub-300 that aren't pieces of crap (I hear bad shit about the Hanns-Gs) I'd love to hear any.

SIDENOTE: Couldn't they save money on production by just making an option that doesn't have BS speakers built in? I don't need your shitty speakers. Give me more monitor and less shitty audio options.

Went ahead and got the one in my OP that the other dude got. Lowest price for the quality I could find and 169.99 definitely a good price. Thanks for that code, btw.

    how big of a difference is 15,000: 1 vs 70,000 :1

the one in the OP has 15,000 with HDMI's but one I want has 70,000 no HDMI.

how big is the difference to the eye?

I just got the monitor in this morning and only had time to hook it up and notice a single stuck pixel before going to work. Anyone know a good way to get rid of a stuck pixel? I tried letting a java app run on the affected area that flashed all kinds of colors while I was at work but it's still there. It's one tiny ass lil pink pixel and besides that the monitor is amazing.
