    Issues after power outage

    Issues after power outage
This morning the power co. mistakingly turned my power off, once i phoned them they turned me back on. Upon turning my pc back on, i noticed the POST text was a lower resolution and wasnt being stretched to fit the screen like before, and once windows tried loading to desktop im getting "signal out of range". The monitor is a soyo 24" 1920x1200, VA panel (dylm24d6)

Hooked my pc up to my Plasma and post screen is fine, windows boots fine

Could a power failure permanently affect the maximum resolution of a monitor?

    Yes it is possible.

Can you lower the resolution in increments and swap from Plasma back to LCD just to see if the LCD will display any resolution?

    Either way, what a pain.

The Auto button optimizes post signal processing. It won't fix an error if it thinks the signal is already out of range.

So, basically after tons of switching between friends 1920x1200 lcd, my 1080p plasma, and my lcd, i can get it to work at 1920x1080 but it wont sync properly and i get distortion on the right side of the screen, or i can run at 1280x720, both require me to enable gpu scaling

so basically the hardware scaler is fucked

    ; ; But $120 isn't too bad for a replacement.
