    Comcast DVR to MAC?

So I've got Comcast's DVR setup and am shortly planning on switching to DirecTV. At the moment I've got about 10hrs worth of programming that I've saved and would like to move to my Macbook if at all possible...

So now the questions is... is it possible? Google didn't really seem to help, as alot of posts are old. DVR Model is DCH3416.

    Thanks guys!

Those DVRs are encrypted and such, can't just rip the contents out, PC or Mac.

However, you could probably digitally stream it over Firewire (i.Link) if there is a port on the DVR

If you have a firewire cable you can dump them. I think it's actually a law that the DVRs are required to have the firewire port. Mine does (Comcast). I dunno what Mac software to use though; only ever done it on a PC. Keep in mind some channels may be flagged so that you can't transfer them (premium channels mainly).

Honestly, it's so much easier to just download the episodes in question than it is to transfer and re-encode them. There is a lot more to it than just putting the files onto your computer, and a reason why there are few who actually upload the content to the internet.
