The Glenn Beck Rally

I'll be honest people, I actually listened to his radio show and watched his program.

My conclusion was that Beck managed to draw an audience and a following by speaking
emotionally to his audience. I do that with my dog, too. My dog responds very well to
the state of my tone. Doesn't really matter what I'm saying, as long as it carries either alarm,
or a threat, or a surprise, my dog responds.

So Beck managed to put together a rally. If you listened to his show, he's been bribing, threatening
and down right begging his audience to organize and come for sometime now. In between shillin'
out for goldline or whatever the fuck. Buy gold, come to my show, *insert scared voice* BARAK HUSSIEN
OBAMA.

So he managed to get some chest thumpers out of their caves to come to his rally. You know exactly
the type of people that showed up. You know... the fuckers who cry out against government healthcare while literally sitting on their medicare power scooter.

So I watched the rally. I have no fucking clue what it was about. Usually these things have meaning.

You know... shit like, MLK's birthday or something, or a protest. Nothing. No effing reason... except.


A show of power.

Think about it guys. This dude Glenn Beck, suddenly organizes this bullshit rally, and you know why?
So he can say, "Look... Look how many dickwads came. Look how many people jump when I say 'Jump'"
This is a classic political play right?

That being said, I won't be posting again in this thread in line with my beliefs that even acknowledging/discussing Beck and people similarly undeserving of respect like Beck is giving them attention they ought not have. In Politics, people like Beck should get no coverage and be ignored similarly to how I believe athletes who misbehave should be blacklisted by the sport and ignored by the media rather than being the #1 story.

My parents love Glenn Beck. They eat up everything he says, and then they try to 'enlighten' me by asking me to watch his show with them. It makes me sad beyond reason. I don't really think we have to worry about him running for office though: his job is to bitch about the mistakes the current administration is/might be making, not to be up there making them himself and taking the kind of heat he dishes out for it.

You're right of course, the current administration IS democratic though That's how I meant it, but I suppose that's a little vague considering when Republicans are in power it's his job to dickride the administration.

BTW, Dr. Alveda King was just being used (at Beck's rally), her cousin Martin Luther III flew out with her, but he went to the Education Reform march with Al Sharpton and Arnie Duncan, from Dunbar - DC. I thought they were supposed to unveil the 4 story tall MLK Memorial, but then I heard that it was still either under construction, or being proposed or something...
