PS3 Connection Speed Issues

Hopefully there haven't already been 35 threads about this type of thing, searching with 'PS3' does not really work :/

Anyways, short story is every machine attached to my router gets 25+ Mb/s except for my PS3, which gets .5-10, and I could use some help figuring out why and/or if there's a way to fix it, PSN downloads are absolutely brutal as is.

Setup:

Comcast Ultra cable broadband(33Mb/s package)
Ubee D3.0 modem
D-Link DIR-655 Router

Everything is currently wired in, I tried it wirelessly as well and the speeds are identical, so I don't believe it's the modem, the router, or anything other than something with the PS3 itself. I checked to make sure my router's firmware is up to date, I haven't ever had to mess with anything like port forwarding previously, and it's literally only the PS3 that's having the trouble. Any hints would be appreciated.

I'll be at a loss on this, but just general question to continue the trouble shooting.

Are you using the same type of network cable for all your devices (Cat 5/6 etc....)

also, you have tried the PS3 in ports known to get 25+?

Yeah they're all the same, and I tried swapping ports/cables between all the machines and it didn't change a whole lot...though pretty much within 15 minutes of me posting this, I changed nothing at all, went to the PS3 web browser and tried a speed test site and it got the full 33d/5u that all my other machines were getting, backed out of the browser and my demo downloads restarted and went much faster, so I'm kinda stumped.

1. Find your computer's local IP address. (Start>Run>cmd>ipconfig) Pending your network is normal, it should be something like 192.168.1.100.
2. Download Privoxy from their website.
3. Run the Privoxy installer.
4. Go to the Options menu and select 'Edit Main Configuration'
5. Find the line that says "listen-address 127.0.0.1:8118". Should be about halfway through the file.
6. Replace 127.0.0.1 with the computer's IP address. Leave port 8118 alone.
7. Save and close the configuration.
8. If you have a firewall on your computer/router you need to allow access to Privoxy on port 8118.
9. On the PS3 open the network configuration settings. When it asks if you want to use a proxy say yes and enter your computer's IP address and port 8118.

Try this, if it doesn't work, post again and I'll try something else.
