Fundraising Ideas

So I was accepted to volunteer in New Zealand, Australia and Costa Rica next year from May-August. But the thing is I have to raise money for things such as the plane tickets and transportation to the continents/countries. So I'm asking you guys for good ideas that raise a lot of money or previous fundraisers you've thrown and your success or lack of success...

I did pretty well in my last attempt, but it involved me getting hit by a car and nearly losing an eye, so uhhh, idk, try a bake sale.

Open mic night sorta thing? Or throw a gig with a local band? Give the band some money for a booking fee then keep the rest? idk
People love that shit where I used to live. My high school used to do a band night every month or so.

Some friends of my g/f actually did exactly that for some fundraiser for poor brown kids or something. Well not a band, but a DJ, bought some cheap food, found a local microbrewery who agreed to donate a couple of kegs, then a couple other places that agreed to donate a couple of things that they could sell tickets for and raffle off for extra money. 5 dollars a head to enter the party plus extra for the raffle tickets for each prize. I think they did reasonably well.

For a college student. It'd be pretty tough and not go insane/burned out.
At 7.25/hr with 20 hours minimum a week at 25 weeks it'd be 3625.

Deliver Pizza. At 20 hrs a week I could bang that out in 3-4 months easy after gas.

wait tables. I did that while i was in college and made 300-400 a week easy all cash, even if you make the low end around 300 a week that's 7500 right there. You shouldn't get burned out college isn't that hard unless you learn slow and take 5x as long to do stuff. Or you're pre-med or something.

Double major~ Mortuary and Sports Medicine.... Odd majors I know.

Waiting tables is still a relatively easy side-job as a college student and barring being a stripper it's also going to be the most profitable. $6,500 in 5 months is easy doing that I make $32k/yr to sit at a desk atm and I easily made more working less hours as a waiter.

Also, I made shit waiting tables. You gotta find the right spot. Some days I'd make $100+, other days I'd walk out with $10. One day I actually made negative money because we had a minimum amount we could tip the bus staff so I ended up being -$9 after 4 hours of work. If you want steady cash, waiting tables isnt the right idea.
