I've been having some issues with malware and BSODs on my laptop (Acer Aspire 5739, Windows 7 64bit, approx. 15 months old), so I decided to give up and try the factory reset by hitting alt+f10 at the start up. After it finished with what I assume was formatting the drive, it tries to start up and install windows, I get an error message saying
"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click OK to restart the computer and restart the installation".
Restarting just results in the same error, I tried to do the reset again and it still resulted in the same thing happening. To make matters worse, my CD drive suddenly stopped reading disks 3 days ago, one of the previous solutions to my problems was to boot with a recovery disk but it won't read it. Am I totally screwed or is there anything I can do to fix it?
Oh and if that wasn't bad enough, I didn't get any Windows CDs or recovery CDs with it when I bought it, and I just checked the COA sticker on the bottom and the numbers are all rubbed off.
