    Mozilla Firefox Xul.DLL problem

Last night Mozilla firefox went haywire on me and after a restart it would not start.

The Error Message i got: Firefox can not load due to xul.dll file could not be found.

This error happened shortly after updating to 3.6.10 update and after a few hours i found the fix for it even though the mozilla site was of no help.

First you will need to save your profile to your desktop

Information on how to find it can be viewed here

    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/...d_your_profile

Once your profile is saved to the desktop you need to go to add/remove programs and delete Mozilla Firefox. Even after removal it won't get rid of your mozilla firefox folder or the bad Xul.DLL file but i couldn't find a removal tool for it. Once it is removed by windows restart your PC. When it is ready use Internet explorer or any other browser you have to download a fresh copy of mozilla firefox. After downloading hit run and the installation will start when asked to install standard or custom settings choose custom settings. When it ask's for a destination folder usually it's C:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox
Do not save it as that destination folder it will not work. Instead of that choose a slightly different name such as C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox Fix or random number or name however you choose to do it.

When it is installed it will ask if you want to run firefox choose no
If you choose yes it will cause a:
Firefox is already running or not responding close all firefox applications and try again.
The reason it will not start is because your profile you saved earlier is not in the new firefox folder.

Follow the instructions i posted earlier to find your new Firefox copys profile
drag and drop it into the new profile folder and your done!\

I hope this helps for anyone having this problem.
