lol english degree, anyone wanna help me apply to grad school :<
From everything I could gather, I had one of two As. One 9 hour course (That met probably 20+ hours a week). Started with 41 students, ended with 29. Rather proud. (Nursing school)
Nice job! My major is easy as shit so I am happy for the people that work their asses off and make A's.
Marketing Research - A
Media Writing - A
Risk and Insurance - B
Sports Law - B
LSU doesn't use any +/- (thank god)

I think Nursing as a major is fairly easy, although some people have issues with the test layouts (they do NCLEX style tests). I'll be going into a CRNA program for grad school, and from what I could gather, it's a bitch (both the program itself as well as getting into the program)
So are you technically pre-nursing right now? And what is NCLEX style testing?
Nice class schedule, Mert. Was on the verge of going English major myself, but sticking with history for now. My English professor this semester really gave me some interesting things to consider, as I plan to attend law school after undergrad. Seeing as history doesn't have as many upper division credits as a lot of majors I will probably take a Shakespeare or a Medieval lit class myself. Always been interested in it.
Nah, not pre-nursing. And the NCLEX is the test that nursing grads have to take to become an RN. The tests are of similar format. They ask questions that involve real life scenarios and you have to answer how you would handle the situation. Can be more than one correct answer, you have to pick the best. For whatever reason, it gives people fits. General transition is pre-nursing (doing nurse aid, medical microbiolgy, anatomy and phys, etc), then you go into nursing school. Where it gets interesting is grad school. They are in the process of transitioning Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Anesthetist to a doctorate program (was a master's). Would be sweet if it stayed a masters degree. CRNAs pull about 150-200k a year for a masters degree.
Senior at UTC, biology major (prepharmacy)
Ecology A (expected a B, guessing he curved was at 87/88 all semester and made about the same on the final but w/e)
Biochemistry A
Physics II Lecture A
Physics II Lab B (My teacher literally wouldn't give me over an 85 for 90% of the assignments)
Microeconomics A
Anatomy Lab Teacher's Assistant; A
Biology Seminar; A
Semester GPA 3.93. My overall is now 3.63
So this is a post your A's thread?
Eh, fashion design/dance-ballet, so all A's isn't going to be a huge whoop to anyone here..![]()
Graduate
Advanced Partial Differential Equations II: A
Advanced Linear Algebra: A (that class was a joke)
Abstract Algebra II: B+ (would have been an A if my professor hadn't changed the grading at the last minute)
Undergrad (as if it even matters)
Honors Colloquia: Natural Sciences: A
Honors Colloquia: Social Sciences: A
American Sign Language II: C
Both of my GPAs dropped this semester, but no one cares about the undergrad. That B+ in algebra pissed me off though.
I don't mind, I just did terrible this semester, and didnt even want to talk about it. Long story short, I had to move out of city and had no way of getting to class for 4 weeks. I contacted my professors and asked what could be done because they all required attendance.
In the class that waived attendance and let me go based on my grades on test, I did my usual 3.8. (300 level...)
One class limited my GPA to a 2.0, so if I would get a 4.0 it would be equal to a 2.0 right off the bat. I got a 1.4 in this class. (200 level...)
The other professor I had told me I missed too much of the class and wouldn't be able to make it up. (100 level...)
So, my hardest class this year which just based me on my grade, I aced. The easier classes I apparently missed so much my grade had to be changed based on only my attendance and not my test scores.
Whatever, though. A similar situation happened last semester, where I ended up in the hospital for a week and missed an "important class." Despite me having a doctors note, and talking with the head of the department, my grade was dropped an entire grade point. I stopped going to this class because it was fucking silly. Then, after all that, I tried to drop a class and the school I'm going to messed up my fafsa and notified me by my never-been-used-or-set school email address rather than sending me something in the mail, and I ended up owing $200 back to them. By the time I had found out I had this bill, paid it, and it was processed and my student account was MANUALLY unlocked (which took two business days for what ever fucking reason.) I had missed the final cut off day for dropping a class by a day and was stuck with now two 0.0's because I decided I was going to a fucking commuter school this year to save some money, and no one would come if attendance wasnt monitored like a fucking hawk. Which of course means that in my senior year of school, my regular 3.8-4.0 GPA is now a 2.01 because of two 100 level classes.
Oh well though, lesson learned. Time to move on.
