    BG Eye Doctor!

Got a new pair of eye glasses about 3-4 weeks ago. I been having trouble with text on computer monitors, very noticeably so. It just seems blurry and strains my eyes. At first I thought my eyes just needed to adjust but its been about a month. Also when I tilt the glasses forward to adjust the angle I view them through, the text becomes much more clear, crystal clear. I just can't wear them tilted like that because it looks mega retarded and it wouldn't sit in that position naturally. I had them fitted when I picked them up though. Could my prescription be off?

Also if I needed another pair would they charge me in full for it? These are transition lenses so they were not cheap. I would really hate to have to buy another pair.

Before I had laser eye surgery, I was nearsighted. I needed my glasses for driving and for seeing distances, but I could see shit crystal clear up close. If I had my glasses on while I was on the computer, I couldn't see anything since my prescription wasn't for that. By the sounds of it, you're nearsighted and shouldn't wear your glasses for reading or being on the computer and the likes.

I'm not sure if its near/far sightedness. Pretty much everything close or far is blurry as hell without glasses for me. I've worn glasses for years just this pair seems to be giving me trouble with blurry text unless I tilt the angle of them, which can't be a permanent solution. I'm going to have to make an appointment because a month should have been plenty long of an adjustment period, I think the prescription might be off. It is just really going to suck having to shell out for a brand new pair if I need too.

What age were you when you had the surgery? I hope to get it one day.

You shouldn't be charged anything if they buggered up the prescription. I had lasik done when I was 24, In February (I'm 25 now).

Sounds like you have an astigmatism, which any good optometrist would have caught. Take your frames back to the office and tell them you need it adjusted because your lenses cause your eyes to strain when you're reading text or letters. Chances are pretty good they'll double check to make sure. I know how you feel, because I have astigmatism in both eyes and I have to adjust my glasses every once in a while because of blurry text. Unless it's been more than a few weeks, they shouldn't charge you to have them fixed. After all, you bought them based on their prescription.

This. And if they fucked up, they shouldn't charge you.

Many places will adjust the lenses for free if you don't like the prescription, I'm not sure what the time frame is though.

Well everything looked readable this morning on my computer, still looked a lot more crisp and clear when I tilted them but it was ok. They got worse the longer I was on. I think my prescription might be off just a little bit and my eyes get tired and strained and it gets worse. Didn't have this problem last pair. Gonna call on monday and see what they say. Thanks for the responses.
