    sears, not as advertised question

So I bought a 3D tv from sears yesterday and asked the sales assoicate if it came with glasses, she asked a dude and he said yes, two pairs. When I got home there were no glasses in the box and the manual doesn't list any inxcluded with them. On sears website under a obscure section of the specs for the tv it says it comes with 1 pair of glasses. Glasses are 50 bucks a piece. So my question is sence the tv is advertised to include 1 pair and the assoicate told me it included 2 pairs before I purchesed it am I entitled to 1-2 pairs? What would be the best thing to do on my part? I plan to keep the tv regarless just trying to save myself some money. Thx

Go to the store, talk to a manager, tell them what you just told us. Hopefully they hook you up.

Go argue with them about the 2 glasses the sales associate said came with it. (NOT A LEGAL OPINION) But this could be an issue of their agent making a warranty on the item that it came with 2 glasses.

I love that Kaslo is now legally obliged to say "Not a legal opinion". I'd just avoid these threads and not risk it lol.

heh, used to see shit like that happen all the time when i worked there years ago. at least in my store, lying/cheating/etc. to get sales and bump up the department's numbers was (unofficially, of course) tolerated, the bosses just made up for it by accommodating the customers who actually caught on.

complain to salespersons' department manager and they'll probably hook you up with the second pair. if that doesn't work, complain to the store's GM.

Not sure if it was clear or not but I didn't get any glasses. Also if they say to bad about him telling me that should I bring up it up that its advertised to have one? Should I say that in my initial story?

Complain about both of them, when they say no, pull out your ad. Then they'll be like "fuck" cause they already said no to both. Now you have more leverage.

If you can name the associate too that'll help a lot.

Definitely complain and say the sales rep told you that you'd be getting 2 and if they say too bad or that the rep was wrong then go for the 1 pair its advertised, going up the chain of managers as need be till the GM. My sister complains all the time on stuff like this and very rarely is she not accomodated.

Brother-in-law is a manager at the Brick, and yea, often the same shit there where the bosses will take care of the ones that catch on as its more than made up by the majority that dont, or dont care enough to complain.

Well tried to e-mail them and get them on chat to save myself some rudeness but got this shit

    "
Please wait for a Sears Customer Service Representative to respond. This chat may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance purposes. Your average wait is 42 seconds. Thank you for holding.

You are now chatting with Fritz. How may I help you?

Fritz: Hi, my name is Fritz, and it's my pleasure to assist you today as your Personal Shopper. May I have your name please?

You: Yes I had a problem with a item i purchased in a store. I sent a e-mail but they told me i could talk via chat also. Is this the right place?

Fritz: Good Evening and thank you for choosing Sears.com for your shopping needs.

Fritz: I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused to you with your recent purchase.

Fritz: If the purchase was made in-store, you will have to contact the store for the resolution. However, please provide me with the details of the issue.

Fritz: I'm glad to check what best I can do for you.

You: Well i purchased a 3D tv from the store. The sales associate assured me that it would include 2 pairs of 3D glasses.

You: Also when i researched a little more under the specifications on the sears.com website it stats that it comes with 1 pair of glasses

You: Although when I opened the box there were no glasses and the manual that came with the tv doesnt state that it comes with any under includeded items

Fritz: I could understand how this situation would be frustrating for you...

Fritz: Please accept our apologies for not receiving the two 3D glasses with the 3D television as assured by our store associate.

Fritz: Just to confirm, did you purchase the "Samsung 51" Class 1080p 600Hz 3D Plasma HDTV (Sears Item# 05775151000 | Model# PN51D550)" priced at $899.99 online?

    You: yes

    Fritz: Thank you for confirming.

Fritz: That's a very good choice.

Fritz: Please allow me 1 to 2 minutes.

Fritz: I'm checking the specifications of the television.

You: under the main page specifications it doesn't mention anything about glasses. Although if you click videos and product demos and then specifications under it it list 1 Pair of 3D Active Glasses Included. As well as the associate telling me it came with two

Fritz: Thank you for providing me with the information.

Fritz: I will be right with you.

Fritz: Thank you for being on hold.

    Fritz: I appreciate your patience.

    You: no problem

Fritz: Yes, I checked the Videos and product demos and found that 1 pair of 3D glasses are included for the 550 series.

Fritz: We have offers for free 3D glasses with the purchase of particular 3D televisions in some stores.

Fritz: Please contact the manager of the store to resolve this issue.

You: Ok thank you i'll call them in the morning when they open then

Fritz: You can find in the review that one customer has written that the product came with 2 pairs of the glasses and another customer was yet to go out to purchase the glasses.

Fritz: Shall I provide you with the contact phone number for the store?

Im not going by the reviews im going by what the sears website has listed: I can look it up in the morning

Fritz: Yes, I understand your concern. I referred to the review with regard to the free 3D glasses.

Fritz: Not to worry, the store manager will help you resolve the issue.

Fritz: I'm here to assist you, are there any further questions that I can assist you with today?

Im not going by the reviews im going by what the sears website has listed: Nope thats it, I'll call them tomorrow and if he cant resolve it then best buy has price match. Thank you"

So basically he told you nicely that he can't help you aside from tell you to contact the store....and you call that rude?

What did you expect, that he was going to drive over to your house and personally deliver them?
