mouse movement issues since update

anyone else that plays on pc having issues of not being able to move their characters with their mouse? i can rotate camera with it, but i can not move atm with it

I was wondering this myself until 7 people in /shout were saying they're annoyed having to relearn movement.

I use the mouse to steer when autorunning, but mostly for camera controls when I don't feel like reaching for shift.

Considering that even in japan PC is near dead as a platform (they mainly use consoles or handhelds) im not surprised

If using the number pad, press 8 and then tap 7 (no idea for compact kb). Been keyboard only since the start, even when I had to go to ps2 to stop hogging the pc heh. Just bought a cheap usb keyboard for my controller.

Number pad controls are really easy to get used to: right hand on numpad, use thumb to hit arrow keys for the camera. Hold shift and press arrows to move camera when you're in a menu/ah/KO'd/etc. Press numpad 0 to select a target in front and to progress targeting to the right, shift-0 to go to the left (can shift-tab as well). Mousing in this game has always been very slow...

I play games with good mosue control with my mouse. FFXI is not one of those games. Many times, when I'm doing something in another window, FFXI would sometimes decide to move me around or some other annoying shit. Hopefully this isn't a glitch.

Mouse can be real annoying when playing in a maximized window, since it'll try to interact with any onscreen elements near the cursor. Wish there was a way to disable it completely ingame. I'm usually stuck leavng it on my taskbar to ensure it doesn't fuck with something.

Oh nice. I hated having an active window on top of FFXI, and then closing it, and it would cause my character to run all over the place.

So I guess has anyone found a workaround? I just got home from work, got the update, and now I have to revert to caveman WASD. I have been playing with mouse since NA pc release and don't intend on changing.

Edit: Did a GM call and got this standard response. AFK until fix.
