The few houses we liked enough to ask our realtor about are all under contract/contingent. The rest are ridiculously overpriced.

it's the same thing.. I mean, most houses have a backyard with trees in it, bushes in the front, cars parked in the street--there is so much cover, so many locations to set up a sniper rifle or elephant gun

Well, I had a realtor who would set up showings sometimes, but beyond that I used the fuck out of Redfin.com - powerful search, good shit. Where are you looking to buy?

Also, great time to buy, interest rates are stupid fucking low and house prices seem to have bottomed out.
