The latest entry in Bandai Namco's hit "Tales" series is apparently coming to the PS3 exclusively, after Sony's console has sort of been disregarded from the RPG franchise.

Gaming blog Esuteru (Japanese) reports that in a Japanese radio interview, a Bandai Namco rep confirmed that the next title will be coming to the PS3 in the fall of this year.

Tales of Vesperia, the last major title in the series, was released on Xbox 360 first, and it wasn't until more than a year later that is was finally ported to the PS3.

The reason it took so long, though, was because there weren't a lot of resources devoted to the porting project. Apparently most of them were working on the new title, which will now be exclusive to PS3.

The new game will reportedly be called Tales of Unitia, and as of this moment there is no real information on the game's plot or American release date. But it sounds like good news for PS3 fanboys.

But yeah, this is probably real news. A few weeks ago, Kotaku reported that news of a something related to the 'Tales of' series was supposed to come out this week. Sounds like this is it.

Bandai Namco announced Tales of Graces F will be coming to PS3 this winter, the game is based on the Wii version of Tales of Graces from last year, with additional features such as new costumes, new moves and HD graphics.

Namco Bandai has officially acknowledged the existence of a leaked Tales of title. Andriasang reports series producer Hideo Baba confirmed at a press conference that there is a new entry coming to PS3, but that it's currently nameless -- shooting down rumor that it'll be called "Tales of Unitia." There is currently no release window for the game, but some concept art was shown (pictured).

Additionally, the company verified the port Tales of Graces F for the PS3 this winter, which will include an "after-story" that wasn't in the original Wii game. A Namco Bandai representative informed Joystiq that the publisher currently has no plans to release "Tales of Graces (PS3)" in North America.

Namco Bandai has put up a teaser site for the upcoming "15th Tales Anniversary Title" with a countdown for the actual day of the 15th anniversary. It currently counts to 135 days left till reveal, so that would be around the 15th of this December. Aside from the previously revealed concept art, more artworks are also available on the teaser site. They are quite small though.

In the Tales 2010 Lineup Presentation at Tokyo, Producer Hideo Baba states that this is definitely not the rumored "Tales of Unitia for the PS3". The name of the game is currently under deliberation, he says. They say that they do not have a character designer nor an artist for the theme song yet. Only thing confirmed so far is that Daigo Okumura will be in charge of art design.

There are two characters shown on the scan. The male character is named Jude Mathis, voiced by Yonaga Tsubasa and is designed by Fujishima. The female character is named Mira Maxwell, voiced by Sawashiro Miyuki and is designed by Inomata. The theme song is by Ayumi Hamasaki, with no name given. As expected, a vague "2011" release date was given for the title.

According to reports, Jude is aiming to become a doctor and is studying at a medical school in a capital. He's also good at concentrating. As for Mira, she calls herself the "master of spirits" and is accompanied by the spirits of Earth, Water, Fire and Wind. She's determined in carrying out a secret mission.

It kinda looks like that new teleport might be a sidestep replacement. Hopefully I'm wrong, because sidestep is broken as hell already. If they have that and the CC system again it's not off to a good start... Jude fights hand-to-hand which automatically makes this better than Graces anyway. Now to pray it gets localized, at least it'll be unlikely they'll make a second superior version this time what with it being on PS3 from the get-go, which makes importing it a bit more tempting if it turns out well.

Honestly wish they'd go back to using a more 2d battle system though. Something like Symphonia with maybe some very limited free run for the occasional awkward multi-enemy encounter. They suck at balancing the 3d games (ignoring how broken the CC system) just because anything that's attack doesn't take up half the battlefield is easy to dodge just with free run.

I actually really liked Enslaved, story and VA were so well done. That said, they had to know that it wasn't going to put them in the green...?
