Anyone else a gimp?

Particularly on jobs that you just don't give a shit about anymore, but that you got to 75 a while back, and still use because they are handy from time to time? I'm thinking my WHM, my BLM, etc.

As time has gone by I've acquired more and more EX gears like relics and cursed pieces, things that are 'good' gear, but situational, like pretty much all gear SE gives us, and I've continually used the 'ah it's good enough' excuse to sell off expensive pieces to fund my crafting and melee job levelling habits :D

On my LS's last Fafnir, I decided to take my BLM out (first time in a while...), and I was a little embarrassed to be outdamaged by the other 2 BLMs there, who are both relatively fresh to 75, 3rd job BLMs, both real tip-top DD gear owners; the full set of HQ staves (almost anyway), and pieces I've never bothered to get, like the Ugly pendant and Prism Cape.

I saw Wafik post something saying how he'd never bothered to get any HQ staves for his BLM and RDM and just kinda got to thinking about this...

Think not having HQ staves is bad? I don't even have AF for my lv 75 job. Then again, I just hit lv 75 4 or 5 days ago on BLU

I'm too cheap to buy dusk trousers for 14 attack, and I dont want care about atk+4 (feral) or eva+5 agi+2 so I just wear Linen Slacks until Proto drops my homam this week :/

I'm like that for RDM, only decent things it has are Crimson Legs and AF2 boots/hands. Even though I have some HQ staves (Wind Ice Earth, and Dark from LS fund lol) I don't find them that useful for RDM anyway, seeing as I only use it for HNMs really and you can't enfeeble most of those anyway.

I don't think this topic is about jobs you plan to lvl and gimp out, I get the feeling it's the jobs you lvl'd but no longer care about because you fucking loathe it now and don't wanna waste money pimping it out and instead pimp out another job that you do like (in my case, mnk).

My RDM has full AF, no cursed, no AF2, windy CP back item, NQ level 54 rings, and only 1 HQ staff out of the few staves I own (Apollo).

My BST although not really a HNM job has a Lohar and Temperance as main axes, 4/5 hecatomb, Pln. Body, and sky-adaman gear. For rings I use ruby + Rajas. I roll with NQ Anemet.

For rdm after you fully merit enfeeble nothing else matters. The increase in probability of an enfeeble landing is rediculously trivial by adding skill post 300-310 skill. If anything HQ staves are about the only thing that are worth maybe getting but I don't do much beyond a few sky NM's.

I just recently pimped my BLM out quite a bit (after receiving zenith mitts). At one point in time I had full AF2 w/ no zenith mitts, nq rainbow cape, only 2 hq staves and diamond rings. Went about 2 months or so w/ full AF2 and no Z. Mitts before genbu finally decided to drop the abj. Theres was one BLM in my LS who got to lot against me, and he still doesn't have them and has been in the LS for almost as long as me. Fucking W. Feet is all I have to say about that.

Nin75 is pretty gimp/lopsided.

NQ Haub, Swift Belt and Ohat (whats a walahra turban?) to round out everything else. On WS gear is pretty decent, got some RSE and a ruby ring in there somewhere. Needs improvement.

Oh, so people who leveled a bandwagon job to either be cool/get in an LS, and never really cared about the job in the first place. Seriously why level a job if you don't plan on either using it for solo/LS reasons, or because you enjoy playing the job. My point was, don't level it if you don't like it, and if you level it, don't gimp it for the sake of the LS or other people you play with.

My Bard used to be rather pimp. Serket, River Gaiters, all HQ staves (just for the hell of it), Goddam Beastly Motherfucking Earring, Mahatma Body, other junk.

Last time I played, I replaced most of my Bard's coolness with NQ gear, and am using that cash money to pimp a 41 and up WAR. I have a ton more fun on my low level WAR than on 75BRD.

Only regrets are selling things early and losing inflation money...and that stupid earring. C'mon SE, give us fools a way to change that kinda stuff!
