Post opinions of the situation. I'm kind of curious about what everyone thinks...

I believe this has potential to made into the funniest joke in the world.

You take the trailer and you edited the hell out of it. Replace all the word parts and add more to it to make more dramatic. "If you love your... then you must see this movie... Or you will never seen them again". Add in some random scenes to make it look like an action film. Have Al Gore say at the end, "only one man can save us..." then it flashes to Vin Diesil with a machine jumping from a plane.. "XXX."

Anyway, I'll see it. I love propaganda films and this one has a good cause.

There's no clear indication that we are causing global warming. Science tells us that we might be causing it, but it's merely a theory.

Didn't hear anything about the ozone layer which was going away when I was a child. People were stressing out over too, but over the past few years the holes have been closing up.

The trailer was right about one thing. 2005 was the hottest recorded year since we started keeping track of the temperatures. That is... the hottest if you don't count 1998.

The only thing we really know is that there's about twice as much carbon dioxide in the atmoshpere since the industrial revolution.

Also, the Earth's surface changes all the time. The snow is melting on those mountains? Well that's fine. The Sahara Desert is turning into a jungle. That river is all dry with boats still in it? Well, I'm sure this is used for the imagery mostly. New rivers form and dry up all the time. In fact a major one is forming right now that might challenge the size of the Amazon River.

It's still unclear what global warming is and what's causing it. Awareness about the destruction of our planet (by our own hands) is a great thing and I completely approve of such a message. But to bring this message specifically about an end of the world theory of global warming from Al Gore (who brought us the internet, remember?) is just silly.

Show us instead all the little things we do. All the little clearings and forests we destroy. I don't think we're going to bring about the end of the world in one climatic explosion, but little by little right under our noses. And it won't be the end of the world's existance, just the end of what makes the world such a wonderful place to be.

And I guess people who are made so stupid by their comfortable lives of slothfulness in front of the television that they will swallow anything they hear, regardless of merit or factual basis, as long as it's scary are much more enlightened.

Eventually we will find new resources to replace those we are exhausting now, ie. oil (like grass!). There will come a time when we wont have a choice because there wont be any left.

Humans are definately a detriment to the planet and its ecosystem. The rate of global warming has increased dramatically since the industrial age and its definately not a coincidence. We have been abd will continue to be responsible for the extinction of a disgusting amount of animal species through habitat destruction, pollution, and over hunting.

The era of humanity will come to an end eventually, and the impact we are going to leave on this planet is going to be severe.

Why's that? It happens everyday, just not as monumental as oh say oil to kerosene, or kerosene to gasoline.

I mean, come on. So called 'experts' predicted we'd be out of all natural resources in the mid 1990's. Today we actually have larger supplies of each thing they predicted would disappear, including oil and natural gas, and aluminum, and other materials.
