    Boot issues

    For Realtek RTL8111B/8168B Gigabit Ethernet Controller v1.60c (050710)
    PXE-E61: Media Test Failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.

    Reboot and Select proper Boot device
    or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

    that only comes up if your trying to boot off of a network device, or the other bootable devices in your boot order are not coming up. Go into your bios, check your boot sequence, make sure network/lan boot is not first. If it's after cd rom and hard drive, it very well could mean your hard drive took a dump on you.

    popped open the laptop, HDD actaully fell out of the socket rofl

    well now we know why your laptop wasn't booting off of the hard drive :D
