    Magic modifyers?

It may be other posts about this, but I could not find. Post link and close thread if I am wrong.

I just got Kirin's Pole, so I wonder a bit: Choke, Shock, Burn, Bio II (DOTs) you should boost INT equip? Not wind staff for Choke and so on? Does MAB affect DOTs or is it only INT?

And I have always been wondering: Does wind staff affect for example gravity, ice staff paralyze, dark staff sleep and so on? Or does ele staffs only affect pure nukes (aero)?

    Thanks.

Use staves, they are Magic Accuracy of that element +10/15% and Magic Potency of that element +10/15%, works with enfeebles as well as nukes.

No, magic attack bonus does not affect the potency of any enfeebles.

But does INT affect DOTs? Kirin's Pole only for buffs?

Sure it does, but I'm pretty sure staves affect them more. I'm not a BLM though, it just makes sense.

If wearing a Kirin's pole will put you at or above 70 INT, 100 INT, or 150 INT when you otherwise wouldn't be, then use it. Otherwise use staves for accuracy.

INT is better for shock burn choke etc.. they are tiered so at certain INT numbers the DOT is increased. I don't know the tiers, but yea if you wanna get max DOT out of shock burn choke / rasp frost drown load up on INT in every slot you can as long as you can still land the spell without the magic acc from stave then you should use Kirin's Pole for em.

edit: Ya those are the tiers Suiram posted.

So I guess this means use wind staff for gravity, ice staff for paralyze, dark staff for sleep and so on? Makes the debuffs higher stickrate?

Aha, yeah, I see. If keep getting resist trying to DOT switch to ele staff. Thanks

Elemental staves don't affect the potency of debuffs (including the stat down effect or DoT of elemental debuffs), but of course if you cant land the spell breaking an int tier wont matter. And, if you arent breaking a tier due to the +10 int, Kirin's isnt doing anything for you at all.

As for the other debuffs you mentioned - paralyze becomes more potent with stacked mind, but most times you will want the accuracy from a staff more than extra mind from clubs/etc, depending on your gear. I used club/shield setup on my RDM a lot and it can have some outstanding results, but youd be almost as well off with full mind otherwise and the staff for accuracy.

Gravity gives a static evasion down, but some people say speed reduction fluctuates - but, personally I can never see a time where it's important to get the most speed reduction out of gravity at the sake of any risk whatsoever of being resisted, so even if the speed down does change, I would never not use full accuracy gear. Sleep is a static spell of course.
