Lexus IS 350 vs ES 350

Okay so my lease is coming up soon on my first car (mazda 6) which I loved until a couple of months ago when it started fucking up and is just a total pain in the ass right now... but i'll live.

Now, i've looked into some cars... specifically the Infiniti G35(which I think has an ugly backside on the '07 model), the BMW 3 series (which looks meh tbh), and the Lexus IS 350 and ES 350.

I've pretty much narrowed it down to the two Lexus cars, I just can't decide which of the two I would like more. They both look great (even though the IS is kind of small, especially for people sitting in the back), and both have pretty much the same features as far as interior is concerned (pretty sure this is true.)

They only have about a 30hp difference (IS being about 306hp and the higher one), but since that won't really matter I just don't know anymore.

The ES looks very luxurious, and resembles the Lexus LS, which I my dad has and I drive pretty often. The IS on the other hand is more sporty-like.

I still got a couple of months before my lease is over, so I want to make sure i'm totally positive about my decision by then.

What do you guys think?

I prefer IS models over ES, so 350 is my vote. However, I'd take a 300 over 350 anyday.

The IS350 would be my choice. Not only is it more sportier, but it has pretty much the exact same (or more) luxury qualities about it than the ES350. The ES is more like a glorified Camry (personal opinion).

Pretty much what Quixotic said. I just prefer the look over the ES, never driven a Lexus though.

Yeah, there's no comparison in my opinion. The black just looks so clean.

Yup black luxury cars are pretty win. Get the black interior as well! My cousin is in the works of buying an IS as well, but she's getting white.

My current car is black too, it just looks good on everything.

My only concern with the IS is that it's kind of small... and the fact i'm going to have to order it ahead of time if I want it with all the ultra super duper luxurious features like automatic seating and stuff like that.

The ES does look pretty good in black too, but its bulkiness is what worries me... i'm 19 going 20 soon, and I don't want to drive a car that I won't see myself driving (size-wise that is) for another good 10 years, when i'll actually need more room in the back etc.

I think i'm leaning towards the IS even more now.

lol my cousin wants a white car as well... I personally really don't like white on cars. She's looking for a Jetta I believe. I tried convincing her she should get the black one instead, but she's stubborn.

From the comparison I took a quick glance at on KBB, the IS and ES have more or less the same interior space in the front row, but the IS has less leg room in the rear.

Yeah, but I had my dad sit right behind my seat when we went to check it out at the dealership and he said he still had some room. My dad is pretty tall, so if he could get in there comfortably, so can my friends.

Do you have alot of people that ride in your car? If no, the smallness of the back at least shouldn't be an issue.

Yeah IS looks a lot sportier... thats what i would pick lol...

and yeah black looks good on every car

I don't usually drive a lot of people, so it's not an issue.

I wouldn't worry about the room in the back. My friends don't give any consideration when they call shotgun in any other car and make me sit in the back of a sports vehicle (I'm 6'5", back seats suck bad), why should I think about them when choosing a vehicle? Lol, my '95 Prelude has like an inch between the front seat and the backseat. Behind me, atleast.

I do like cars in powder white, or cocaine white... whatever it's officially called. It's like an off-white. But plain, pure white, no thanks.

The car enthusiant in me is screaming for you to go all out and wait for the IS-F The interior alone does it for me.

It's going to be a bit pricey though It's supposed to compete with the BMW M3 and Audi S4/RS4
