3 months more.
lol
Yes, that article SCREAMS supports genocide. Read the fucking article moron
i couldnt think of a good topic head so i did, so fuck off lol...
The timing doesn't seem suspicious to the OP?
This is less about Bush's ability to condemn genocide and the Dem's willingness to pull out a campaign issue when it's most convenient to them. They had ample opportunity before now to pass such resolutions but it wasn't politically profitable back then. This whole theatrical dance is the definition of 'Wedge issue.'
Yeah, that was kind of a pointless resolution in the first place. We're not exactly kicking Germany in the gut about Nazism during a war that happened after World War 1. Why stir up people's shit over a conflict way back in the trench warfare ages?
Why are they even wasting their time with this...?
thats true. theyve had plenty of time to. But like the article says, Armenia and Armenians alike have been pressign this a lot in the past few years.
But yes, I agree in that the timing is kinda fishy. But meh, it should still be recognized as genocide in my opinion.

This reinforces my theory that people who can't read hate Bush.
Not the best analogy since the German gov't is pretty up front with their holocaust history to the point that it's illegal to be a holocaust denier. The difference is that Turkey dosen't acknowledge that this was genocide specifically (it was), and this pisses Armenians off. They don't want this important part of their history to be swept under the rug.Originally Posted by Venture
I agree that this is totally the wrong time to be bringing this up, and it's entirely politically motivated and serves no greater good.

It's also assholish of the Dems to push this at a time where it absolutely will not pass given the realities of who we can pick and choose as allies in our current wars.Originally Posted by Maxxthepenguin
It's like when they push 'gay rights' when they absolutely know it won't pass. It's making yourself look like you're in support of something when you don't give a shit about it passing in the first place. You lose to make the guy who won look like the heel. It's cynical and it's effective.
