I shall wait for the complete game, don't feel liek beta testing even though I :nikkei: the GT series ;(
the game is beautiful...first game i've gotten that's 1080p. i don't like not being able to tune your car right outta the gate...i also really hate driving games without a dualshock controller, i can't tell when i'm slipping by just watching. might just put it down 'till tomorrow.
I'm gonna see about picking it up tomorrow, big fan, and I really want to get it.
ohhhhhhhh i got it :nikkei:
Great for what is is(a paid demo).
How do people play simulation racing games without wheels...I'll never understand ;(
I kind of want to buy it just to see how good the graphics are firsthand. Is it going to be available for renting?
Check out the GT5 and rl ver. of the Ferrari F1 car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L023Gxp4pWM Listen to that engine ;o
Can you change the seat orientation of the cars (i.e. which side of the car the seat is on)? Some screenshots are right-seated while others are left-seated. Are these car-specific or can you change them?
Definitely picking this one up today. Heard it requires too much grinding missions but GT is GT, been craving for a good simulation for a loong time.
They are based of the make of the car. If for instance its a Japanese model, the drivers side will be on the right side, while if its an American made car it will be on the left.Originally Posted by Anakron
I'd rather wait for the full game too.
It's a quick cash cow for Sony, if they drop the price on the downloadable version I might grab it, since GT5 likely isn't going to be released til Christmas at the earliest.
Sort of related but, it was stated a few weeks ago that GT5 will finally included deformation on the cars. Whether or not it's entirely superficial or actually affects racing waits to be seen, but it's nice to finally get that into the series. Would be a shame if you can't ram cars at 100 mph going into a turn to shave a few milliseconds off ):
I'm gonna check this out before I buy or possibly wait for the rest of the game. Adding damage to the cars would be nice but I also had a lot of fun just running into the computer if I was far enough behind not to win, so if that messes it up where I can only wreck pretty bad only once a race I wouldn't like it as much.
Someone also told me that they finally got licenses to Porches cars, can anyone confirm that for me? Is there a complete list of the cars in Prologue or maybe even for the full version of the game?
Edit: Found what I think is the list here. So happy there's going to be 944's in this game.
spend on fixing up my car irl
or
buy a ps3?
hmmmmmm
it is such a sexy game...i just sat and watched my roommate play for about 30 minutes and admired how pretty it is. lol...i'm usually too ADD to pay attention to the t.v. that long when i'm not playing. i'm on the A series races now, and really loving the game so far. bought my dualshock today and it makes a huge diff. as far as the wheel goes...i bought one before and HATED it. nothing can feel like driving a car except being in a car...the wheel is just annoying unless i've got the pull of the turns and the force of the clutch.Originally Posted by elphaba
Racing wheels are not worth it unless they're immovably affixed to something solid and heavy. Since I don't really set up my gaming rig like that 100% of the time and since I don't like moving too much equipment around every time I swap discs, I'll happily play all my racers on analog rumblypads.
Mostly because 99% of wheels sucked fat balls for the longest time, and finally Need for Speed: High Stakes came out with an amazing engine built around the dual shock and everything copied it, because it works amazingly well.Originally Posted by Darus Grey
Finally bought it yesterday and I should say....I am satisfied with it because...well, its Gran Turismo and it's been so long! But the content is indeed slim. 6 tracks only...come on :/ (2 of them being Daytona and the other speedway, very similar to each other).
It seems like the game will take some time to complete because of tough races/grinding. There are around 70 cars (got to work hard to buy/drive them all as you start with 35,000Cr only, enough for an entry level Honda, etc.). Game looks incredible but choppy menu frame rate is a little annoying. Also, like mentioned above there aren't any customizations.
Pretty good so far, it'll surely get better once I buy a M3.
if I didnt like GT3 I probably shouldnt even bother renting this should I?
