    Problem with screen waking up

I'm having an issue recently where my monitor will turn on for no reason after it has gone to power saving mode from being idle. Is there a way to see what event caused the screen to wake up?

What applications do you have running when your monitor goes idle?

It could be an application waking it up, but I guess you would've reported that here if that was the case (and switched it off).

    This.

Ive had problems when viewing a video stream doing this, even when it's not playing and minimized. So just check what you have running.

If you dont have anything running, and it happens after a fresh boot up.. hmmm

I don't have anything running that I didn't have montsh ago i think just stuff like msn and aim, asus probe, poweriso, ultravnc and maybe a couple others. its not consistent, sometimes it will do it 5 mins after the monitor turns off sometimes it takes hours. I'm kinda thinking it might be the mouse eye because I recently got a new desk that is slightly 'shinnier' (sp?) than the last and wondering if maybe it just happens to think the mouse gets moved every now and then.

Yes, the mouse/surface may be the issue, sometimes ive fond my mouse moving by itself time to time, so I started to use a mouse pad and never had that prob again.

Try it and see if it works.
