    Dark Knight WS Equip

hi, i want to set up a good ws equip for a drk 75. Subjob will mainly be NIN or WAR, maybe SAM and the WS it should be for is Guillotine.

atm we have this - FFXIAH.com WS Equip.

i want to get some str but also dont want to miss the attack for dmg and the acc since its a multiple hit ws. and im not sure about mnd.

clopedia says its Modifiers: STR:25% ; MND:25% and im not sure how it works.

what do you think about the equip? what should i change? atm i have acces to stuff in ah, dynamis, sky and maybe Nyzul Island.

and btw this is the TP Equip - FFXIAH.com TP Equip. What you think about that?

Both setups are fine. I usually use more acc in my ws setup but that's just me. I don't think i'd /nin if i could avoid it. /sam is far superior.

It depends what WS you're doing really. That gearset is fine for something like Cross Reaper but STR for guillo isnt a big deal, you want consistent numbers. Stack on acc and attack. You really dont need more than +25~ STR for a 4 hit WS like that, especially how small that mod is. This is what i use, and it works great for camps at like Jade.

    TP- - FFXIAH.com

    Guillo- - FFXIAH.com

    STR- - FFXIAH.com
The STR is what i would use for CR on Lurkers or something with evasion. or 300 TP Spiral hell, but i never do that in exp lol. Im never at capped acc, so having every little bit helps.

I'd swap in more acc. Ohat and potent belt are good options, and a gorget will go a long way too. AF+1 hands/feet are both pretty good for guillo too, acc and str and str/mnd.

Basically, the WS mod is how much that given stat adds to your weapon's base damage during WSes. A 25% STR mod means every point of STR you have on during WS adds .25 to your weapon's damage, or in other words, 4 STR = 1 base damage on guillotine.

So if your Scythe has 97 base damage, and you have 60 base str, then a naked guillo (ignoring mnd for now) would be 4 hits from a scythe with 97+(60/4) or 97+15 = 112 base damage. 4 str for one base damage isn't a great trade off for a multi-hit, so it's better to wear enough acc for capped acc (or as close as you can get), and then fill in with attack and mods in the other slots.

STR is better than MND because STR also adds to fSTR and your attack value, which both will improve your damage in ways beyond just the WS mod.

Close. 25% STR mod means that each point of STR from mod alone adds ~0.2 to your weapon's damage at level 75 due to alpha (level correction).

4STR = 1 base damage is true of fSTR though, which can be estimated as a 30% STR mod

i never got the alpha values, why does it decrease as you level up, does that mean your WS gets weaker as you level up or something?

    pretty much.

You're really lacking ACC, I think your best changes (easiest and not that costly) to your Guillo set would be AF+1 hands, Potent Belt, Sea Gorget, Bomblet and eventually AF+1 head/Nhead (not sure how easily you can get Nhead though).

dont have a ffxiah account but this is wut i use(max merits)

TP- homamx4, turban, swift, PCC, perdu, bomblet, abyss cape, rajas/ulmtha, brutal/abyssnal

WS- af+1 head, snow gorget, af+1 hands, black cuisses, abyss cape, warwolf belt, heca feet/body.
With diabolic eye, ACC on guilotine is very nice. i suggest cap that along with scythe so u can pile more STR in place of ACC.

Use a Haub for TP and WS.

with a WS like guillo, the extra att will do more for you than the STR would on a heca harness as far as consistency goes. And that's really what you're shooting for.

    Haubergeon vs Hecatomb Harness
    STR5 DEX5 Acc10 Atk10 vs STR12 Acc10
    STR5 [Atk3~4] DEX5 [Acc3~4] Acc10 Atk10 vs STR12 [Atk9] Acc10
    STR5 DEX5 Acc13~14 Atk13~14 vs STR12 Atk9 Acc10
    DEX5 Acc3~4 Atk4~5 vs STR7

DEX is useless for Guillotine now we've taken acc from it, so cancel it.

    Acc3~4 Atk4~5 vs STR7.
Accuracy permitting, STR7 easily outdamages Atk4~5. Depends on how essential that 3~4acc is to your build though!

    Comparison to HQ Hauby;

    Haubergeon +1 vs Hecatomb Harness
    STR6 DEX6 Acc12 Atk12 vs STR12 Acc10
    STR6 [Atk4~5] DEX6 [Acc4~5] Acc12 Atk12 vs STR12 [Atk9] Acc10
    STR6 DEX6 Acc16~17 Atk16~17 vs STR12 Atk9 Acc10
    DEX6 Acc6~7 Atk7~8 vs STR6

DEX is useless for Guillotine now we've taken acc from it, so cancel it.
    Acc6~7 Atk7~8 vs STR6.

In this case it's quite a fair bit closer, but atk4~5 (NQ) and atk7~8 (HQ) won't do a great amount to your cratio/pdif (especially since drk has high attack anyway). I'd say Hecatomb Harness is the stronger body, but accuracy is the key difference between them; depending on your build, it may be wiser to use the Heca Body, or it may be wiser to use the Haubyberk. I use Haubyberk on evasive stuff and Heca Body on most stuff at the moment; should I change my build in the future this is also likely to change.

That's kind of what I was thinking.
Was going to replace my ares's body w/ heca. I've pretty much retired my hauby.
Also, why do lurkers have 100% resist rate on abs-acc.
    Bitches destroy my acc.

If I remember correctly it's not lurkers specifically, but when they use warm-up your absorb becomes useless.
