FFXI re-install question

Hi guys,

I'm running the EU game, and I have all the expansions registered on my account. The problem is now I've come to reinstall after a HDD crash I can't find my WOTG disk and can't seem to find a working EU torrent of it.

I have, however, a NA version of it (and all the other disks too). Is there any way to either:

a) Install all EU disks from CD/DVD and then install the NA WOTG thingy and trick it into thinking it's EU; or
b) Install all NA disks and then trick the whole thing into thinking it's EU?

(Alternatively, if anyone has a EU WOTG torrent that works that'd work too :D )

I believe you have to register the US registry into your computer, then it will let it install.

If you're using windows XP go to -
run > regedit
local machine > software > PlayOnlineEU

right click that > export
name it PlayOnlineUS

then edit that file and change everything that's PlayOnlineEU to PlayOnlineUS, when finished right click the file and go to merge.

I think that's what you're suppose to do, someone can correct me if i'm off.

Ooh so I could actually theoretically install the NA disks and then change the registry back? (this would solve a lot of CD shuffling).

You'd actually have both registries on your computer, the EU and US discs hold the same info, just the installer is different. You can delete the US registry after you fiinish installing.

This is what people did when WoTG was released in the US, it was delayed for like 4 days so people DLed teh EU version and installed with that.
