    Redingote MAB/MAcc vs Weskits/Oracle/Morrigan

Obviously Morrigan > all, but what about the rest? I posted this in the ACP thread when it was first announced a month ago, but there was never any real discussion on it.

    So we have:

    Royal Redingote
    INT+5 MND+5 CHR+5
    Magic Atk. Bonus +4
    Magic Accuracy +4

    Igqira Weskit
    Elemental magic skill +5
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+6

    Genie Weskit
    Elemental magic skill +6
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+7

    Oracle's Robe
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+6
    Magic Accuracy+6

    Morrigan's Robe
    INT+8 MND+8
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+5

    After applying conversions of:
1 INT = .75 MACC (on average, 1 and .5 depending, sue me, im not going to consider .5 is usually more likely.)
    2 INT = 1 MAB
    1 MACC = 1 Skill
    1 Skill = 1 MACC (.9)
1 INT ~= 3-4% Magic Critical Hit (just throwing this conversion in here for the hell of it)
These have been found out through various testing over the years, some of it can be found at Kanican

    And we get:

    Royal Redingote
    INT+5
    Magic Atk. Bonus +6.5
    Magic Accuracy +7.75
    SKill +7.75

    Igqira Weskit
    Elemental magic skill +5
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+6
    Magic Accuracy+5

    Genie Weskit
    Elemental magic skill +6
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+7
    Magic Accuracy+6

    Oracle's Robe
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+6
    Magic Accuracy+6
    Skill +6

    Morrigan's Robe
    INT+8
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+9
    Magic Accuracy +6

So, for pure DMG and Skill set purposes~
    Morrigan > Redingote > Genie > Oracles > Igqira
Yes? And even in a none damage sense, Redingote seems great for MAcc and Skill too.

Im not good with math, nor on the details of correct conversions, but id say Redingote is a clear all around winner for those of us who dont do Salvage?

Correct any mistakes ive made, etc~

I'm sure morrigan's robe will still beat out Rendingote...no matter what you pick, if anything it's a great Morri Substitute for SCH, since for SCH it is the closest thing to a Morrigan's Robe SCH will have. Rendigote is Def a SMN/SCH peice mostly, BLM can still replace it easily with other Bodies.

If you DON'T have morrigans robe (i know fuck salvage drop rates etc) there i'd say it's a good peice. but on HNM and resistant mobs I'm sure Gene will win in the accuracy department.

I did not mention Oracle's Because i don't have it to try it, maybe somone with it can give a better insight, but i still doubt it would really be better.

For MAB yes, but id like to think 5 INT would close the not so big difference slightly, and 5 INT would also be a great help in getting past resists.

Redingote has more MAcc than genie after conversions though, even going with .5 only, it would be 6.5 vs 6. And as far as the elemental skill goes Redingote has 7 over Genies 5.

This body is in between NQ weskit and HQ weskit for both damage and accuracy if you have higher int than the target and better accuracy if you are under. Overall it seems better to have this than weskit or even HQ weskit, since eventually morrigan is better and you can change it for something better once you get morrigan. You could've listed errant/mahatma also to compare, because generally NQ errant is > weskit for resist and ice damage.

Yes. Also, it is the second best RDM nuking body (again, after Morrigan's.)

Personally, I'm going with Fast Cast and MAB+4, then using it as a ghetto Morrigan's/Manteel on RDM, BLM, and BRD. If I get Morrigan's and Yigit/Manteel, then I'll consider dropping/changing it. Even then though, it'd be useful for BLM and BRD/NIN putting up shadows.

I didn't think it would actually beat weskit since you can costomize it with MACC and MAB + the INT so this would undoubtly be best for a none-MorriganS BLM. It's acttualy not bad for WHM since Holy and Banish no longer suck.

First off, I'll preface this with saying that this will not work for everyone, and it is specifically aimed at BLMs.

Next, this is the basic gearset we'll start with:

    FFXIGEAR.com

We will be comparing the Genie Weskit (GW) vs. the Royal Redingote (RR).

Any changes made will continue to apply, meaning scenario 2 changes, will still apply to scenario 3, unless otherwise noted. I did the scenarios on an idea of what would be the most persistent in terms of use. That is, I added the Novio factor in before the Uggy Pendant factor, just because if you had the Novio, you would of course full time it.

The test are all using Blizzard 4, no INT merits, potency merits capped. (The potency merit item, is really what makes this BLM only.)

    Round 1: Flans (89 INT, -25% MDB)

    GW: 1438

    RR: 1436

Round 2: Add 5 INT merits.

    GW: 1462

    RR: 1460

Round 3: Add novio earring, removing Morion Earring +1

    GW: 1512

    RR: 1512

Round 4: Add Uggy Pendant, removing Philomath Stole

    GW: 1565

    RR: 1566

Editorial Comment: I wondered if the extra INT affected this, so for the next round...

Round 5: Remove the 5 INT merits from round 2, leaving all else up through round 4 the same

    GW: 1539

    RR: 1560

Editorial Comment: Okay, but how about a mob in a similar range, but without the negative MDB?

Round 6: Normal mob, 89 INT

    GW: 1231

    RR: 1232

Round 7: Normal mob, but with 100 INT

    GW: 1184

    RR: 1186

Round 8: Same as above, mob of 63 INT

    GW: 1341

    RR: 1340

I'd also like to point out, what got me going was this post:

    Allakhazam.com: Final Fantasy XI

Furthermore, he says the GW will win out over RR up to 70. I haven't pinned the exact INT point down. Seems to be somewhere around cINT of 75. He says that you need a sum of latents to have the RR win, but this is almost a null game, because you can hit it with Sorc. Ring, which the latent is a given for BLMs that use it, and the Uggy is just icing on the cake. You don't need it to proc to have the RR come out ahead, if the mob's INT is within the proper range..

    Conclusions:

The barrier, at least for most of what lvl 75 BLMs would be tackling, seems to be 39 MAB in gear. Again, I point out this assumes full potency merits. Spells you cast of another element (that isn't capped) will not see even this small increase.

Please feel free to point out any discrepancies, or ask any questions. This is sheer research for the sake of it.

    Royal Redingote
    INT+5 MND+5 CHR+5
    Magic Atk. Bonus +4
    Magic Accuracy +4

    Igqira Weskit
    Elemental magic skill +5
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+6

Yea, i'm pretty sure it wins hands down. The MACC is already taken care of and the INT+5 alone is more then enough to cancel out any additions that +1 skill would have givin, and even then MAB+4 INT5 > MAB+6 but unless somone has tests of it not doing better, then they can by all means post.

yea i would think the new body would be better but would like to hear it from some1 who has tested it to make sure. If it isnt better i would rather go a rdm solo piece or something.Thats why i was posting on here is just to find out for sure if it better from any1 that might have it and has tested it.

Well considering the #s above for HQ, id say it easily beats NQ, and I think HQ as well, especially when you consider resist factors.

Using your above conversion you should be comparing
    Royal Redingote
    Magic Atk. Bonus +6.5

    and

    Genie Weskit
    "Magic Atk. Bonus"+7

7 > 6.5 so genie wins. You cant then say yeah but royal has +5 int as well, because that 5 int is included in the 6.5mab.

Order on non resistant mobs (ie exp mobs which you should be pretty much capped magic acc on) will be Mori > Genie > Royal > Nq Weskit. Sure the macc is nice for stuff that resists, but for stuff that resists id want a completly different gear set which would use non of the above bodies.

So... I should get the Redingote until I can get Morrigan body?

I had suggested this to another BLM in my LS, and he said RR was still under NQ Weskit.

The difference between RR and NQ weskit is ~0.5mab and some acc (with rr just coming out on top), if you have another job that could benifit from another body more then dont get blm one, tbh the blm options are meh. Thank god i have cor.

If a BLM says that NQ weskit > RR he's stupid

the test is to see if it's GW > RR or RR > GW

    But now myquestion for RDM

Pretty sure that for MND spells

    its Mahatmas > RR

    and for INT spells

    Af1 body > RR

But yoi think i should use RR for MND enfeeb instead of NQ errant?

I'm going RR fior SCH anyway so

5mnd vs 4macc? Might as well put on af body if you need macc, 15skill vs 10mnd.

Yea i had someone argue with me yesterday tried to say that Int does not matter when your 75blm. I told him end game you wanna hit 320 ele skill 120int close to it as ya can right. He tells me I'm a noob lol. I felt like telling him to go fight Jorm or tiamat in his mab gear with out the ele skill and int and see how well he does. lol Now with a brd it helps alot on resists but ya still need the int and ele skill. With you MAB the nukes that aren't resisted will do more dmg then mine will BUT you will be resisted a HELL of allot more then i will so i would actually be doing allot more dmg then you over the period of the fight. lol <Leaving His Name Out to Protect him from everyone knowing how much a retard he is. lol> And don't need flame wars on this forum anyway.
