Yes momsday is the busiest day of the year, for a bartender/server. But.... ... it's one of the worst days to work.
People are bitchy cause there food/service is taking longer than normal....well fuck you and your mom cause on this one day out of 365 days i'm supposed to be your bitch? I make $3.35/hr yeah your 10% tip on the bill doesn't help. Especially after you use your coupon for half of your meal. FYI the industry standard tip is 18% before the discount!

There are special minimum wage laws for waiting staff, due to their jobs being highly performance based. The majority of the money they make is from tips.

Servers don't abide by minimum wage and such. When I was a waiter I made about $4.25 an hour plus tips, but the whole paycheck was tips. On really busy days, I pulled in 60-70 an hour, and when the banquet room was being used have made around 300-400 dollars in 3-4 hours. Granted, I worked in a Golf Club restaurant in a very high-class town, and the OP probably has a good reason to bitch. I don't want to make it sound like I was loaded though, on rainy/snowy/slow days, I made almost nothing.
