Cloud VS Sephiroth !?
Gametrailers.com - Dissidia: Final Fantasy - Cloud Vs. Sephiroth
Thank you to Hawky for the link.
A few things I've noticed about the gameplay in this trailer:
- Magic Pot summon! Copies your opponent's brave.
- If you break someone's brave, you seem to get a this giant boost to your brave (the number between the 2 characters HP/Brave is the amount you'll get if you break someone's brave). This is shown twice throughout the movie: the most noticeable time when Sephiroth uses his EX Burst and nearly kills Cloud because he Brave Breaks him right before the final HP hit of his EX Burst (owch).
- Sephiroth has some regen bull shit going on, old school FFVIII green numbers and all. I'm not sure what it is though.
- This match was actually pretty interesting, mostly because how close it was at a lot of time. First, Cloud looked like he was just gonna school Sephiroth, but then Sephiroth got in that really lucky EX Burst then Cloud used Alexander (which seems to look like a temporary Brave Boost) to get his brave high enough to finally one shot him.
Man, why can't games like these just come out in North America at the same time...

Who could be her villain though?
There's also a little report from Nasheen from the Vanafest Event:
- They showed a video of Shantotto in Dissidia. She looked more girly and quite pretty. She had a command menu that opened with ancient magic (I think I saw freeze and burst in a glimpse) and the menu's layout/color looked a lot like the FFXI menu. The chairman said "you can play that while waiting to enter Nyzul" (because Nyzul is terribly crowded at JP hours) which made everyone laugh.
And, a little theory about her EX Mode, something I pulled off of Game FAQs... but it does seem to make sense:
"Heh, I think its kind of funny that Shantotto's... Ex Mode is an equipment swap.
You see, for those that have not played FFXI, in FFXI you can assign keys or buttons to work as macros that have your character instantly do a technique or switch your gear to boost a special skill at a certain time. For example, Samurai normally have a set of equipment they equip to boost their accuracy and how much technique points they gain per attack, than once they get 100 technique points they use a macro to switch their gear for something with more attack power to deal more damage for their Weapon Skill.
So one could say Shantotto is using a macro to equip stronger gear for her Ex Burst xD
I thought this was kind of funny and cute, comment if you like~"
Go go equipment macro swaps!
And will other Final Fantasies make an appearance? This code is suggesting yes...

The Goddess Cosmos more clearly seen. I wonder if Altana in FFXI will look like that? They seem to share a few similarities in a way.

Onion Knight VS Cloud of Darkness (Final Fantasy III Showdown !)

And a little description from another video that sheds a bit of light on the actual gameplay:
Setting: Final area of FF3, complete with the final boss remix.
Notes:
Onion Knight is the ORIGINAL FF3 main character. He has no default name, so it's not Luneth, Arc, or whatever.
=====
Here's how the battle worked. The majority of the time they were stealing each other's Brave points (large numbers). You need Brave points in order to damage your opponent's HP. As such, two buttons are assigned, one for Brave draining(Circle) the other is to damage HP(Square). HP is displayed in smaller numbers under the health bars. You can't see it clearly here, though, in fact I highly suggest you go to the official website for a nice perfect view of the entire screen.
Onion Knight was dominating the battle for the most part until Cloud of Darkness countered with that big explosion move near the end that nearly KOed Onion Knight (1 HP left, infact). Onion Knight got a lucky break and countered with his Sage's special, a selection of spells apparently. The player chose Meteor, from what it looks like.
Onion Knight managed to EX Mode twice in this match. He job changed into Ninja (used his Use Item: Shuriken), and Sage (Meteor?). Cloud of Darkness did not use EX Mode, so no green form yet.
*Notice how Onion Knight moves forwards while the player was selecting his next move on the FF3's battle menu? I thought it was a nice reference to older Final Fantasy games...
Do note that Sage and Ninja were among the two best classes in the original FF3 game, which is why those particular classes were chosen.

I have the say it looks rather exciting and fun.
