Just looking for LS experiences with this. Looked through ther ZNM discussion in advanced and didnt really get what I wanted. Is it true this is immune to elegy (even with ES)?

Also, says he uses CS @ every #9%, useing back to back magic and/or WSs. CS -> Gates of Hades sounds fun Q.Q.

My expectation was just to fight like a normal cerb, stunning ga spells when needed and chugging through. Have blms and/or rdm/drks watch for GoH at last 25% then hold TP for 10% and stun spam -> get TP off.

Just seems like high potential for wipe with CSS -> GoH Q.Q.

Tips? Experience?

Keep him at 26% or above during the 29% Chainspell so he won't slip into GoH mode. Store TP around 12% and wait for him to begin his howl cycle (howl>ululation>GoH>hoplon>howl). Have your DDs prime their JAs/buffs/avatars during the first howl and move in only after GoH has fired and the tanks have taken the hit. You can then rush through hoplon's stoneskin and the remaining ~11% HP before Sarameya can Chainspell again. SPs should not be necessary.

In the times where we've applied this strategy, we used dual SAM/WAR (also tanks), 3 RNGs and 3-4 SMNs for damage. No stunners.

That rush method can get you killed if you're not quick and GoH does go off (too many times), it can cause chaos/panic.

The other method is to go full fire resist and eat all of GoH during that chainspell, or do a controlled wipe, as after that 9% Chainspell it won't do it again (but sac-ing would be required). Fully resisted GoH should do miniscule damage and be easy to heal the tanks eating it. Might have to do a bit more damage as it will probably have regened a fair amount of HP.

Either way I think the key in winning is to let all melees know to get the hell out of the way before GoH fires off. The rest of it is quite easy otherwise. The Firaga/Flare spells from it are really quite weak and Saramaya hits like a baby.

The only thing annoying is the "possible" immunity to stun when it roars? I forget, will need clarification from others here, and a weird "hate reset" type thing, but this is just what I noticed myself, better to wait for input from others to confirm what exactly it is. But my biggest peeve is that it screws up positioning when it suddenly decides to dash for someone in the backline...

Barfire gear is the key to this fight, your people in range with barfire setups / carol / barfira will take very low numbers from all fire attacks, so low that they occasionally did 0.

Make sure your RNGs don't pull hate onto the rest of the group like tards every time it chainspells. Speaking from experience...

RNGs are great DDs for this, and PLDs can hold hate over them if they just sit on their TP. Around 10%, just get everyone ready and you can zerg him from 10% to dead in like 5 seconds with 5 RNGs.

Becomes immune to stun between roars, resets hate after second roar until you take an action against it. Have plds flash it right after second roar and it won't go all over the place, have melee run out after first roar under 25% so that only tanks eat the unstunnable gates

Oh as for our results:

Brought 2 pld/wars in fire resists. Fire resist set > Sarameya. Getting hit for 1 point of damage from Firaga 3 with 150 resist in gear, barfire, fire carol, and phalanx = lulz.

We had 2 rng, 1 sam, 1 thf, and a couple blms for damage, although the blms said they were near worthless for the fight other than stun. Wasnt a bad set of fights but one of them did get messy with like 3 GoH not getting stunned even before the 9% CS Q.Q. For the CSs we just had everyone gtfo and the plds ate it for minimum damage. Overall good fights.

Went 3/5 on PW pops, 4/5 on Oracles robe, and 0/5 on fucking Haidate (which was what everyone wanted Q.Q).

Base Firaga is like 600, flare II 800, GoH around 700ish.

The good news is, even without a dedicated fire gear, you can resist well over 50% of the shots with just carol and barfira.
The way me and alma used to do it is just get about 4-5 DD, 2 of them being the SAM tank, and just go nuts at him from 100 > 29

If you do it right, you'll just queue all his chainspells and he won't even melee. Just have the tanks wearing full fire set, I usually just fulltime hasso and berserk on SAM and just keep blasting it with WS, barring some bad timing on roar, hate shouldn't even be an issue.

After the 29% CS is over, keep going to the 11%ish, wait for roar so it'd lock him out of CS, and just blast him after the GoH part of the roar sequence.

Though if I were to do another run, I think I'd personally skip waiting for roar and just prepare 2 shadowbind for the final CS, because frankly SAM/WAR just can't maintain hate if we're not doing damage.

Edit: Ugh, just realized 5% of that is Resentment Cape, and these are in AU. Time for more Coral gear

He's not that bad tbh if your tanks have fire rigs we used NIN/DRK and PLD/NIN tank. I posted a video at http://files.filefront.com/CerbZNM+0.../fileinfo.html of our fight. Probably the most important thing is to dispel blaze pikes otherwise he'll regen uber fast. Didn't bother with RDM/DRKs or anything like that. He's really squishy compared to the real thing.

This, the fight is really not hard at all if you know this. More melee = more death though

Is he noticeably easier to Dispel than normal Cerb? The normal one is a bitch and a half for me to get spikes off of using a pretty solid enfeebling accuracy set, full merits, and Pluto's/Dark Grip. I've learned from enough time on RDM that having one spamming Dispel every time the timer is up can kinda lead to interesting fights, lol.

Don't remember having problems. Since he is weaker to nukes in this form I imagine probably easier to do this too.

I always had to bard this fight so not first hand knowledge. I recall all the BLMs saying their damage was horrible and that he was fairly resistant.

To the guy asking about plds w/o fire resist.

There is really no reason not to enter this fight w/o around 120 in resist that is EASY and cheap to get.

ruby rings/earrings = 40 resist, for like 40k total lol
Green ribbon+1 = 10 resist, 15k
Burburima neck = 10 resist, 10 k
Water belt (from leviathan) 20 resist, FREE
Hrotti or staff = free or cheap.
Power Sandals, 12 resist = free.

Other spots are a bit harder but with just that above and MDB/Magic down in other slots you will resist 90% of his spells/AoE and take crap damage from the rest.
