Help - Campaign's macro-system

It has been a year now and I still haven't much a clue on how Campaign's system works especially when in consideration with Campaign Ops. I tried to figure some of it out a year ago, but my interest fell... is there any sort of huge collection of information on this subject?

^ this. And as far as campaign Ops go I usually do the "defend your nations campaign fortifications" one. I think it's Vangaurd IV or something.

Every few waves of mobs is about 400~ exp and 1200~ allied notes.

imo campaign only good for buffer and MDB sets
