    Swapping nations

I've been bastok and just recently got back into campaign after a long hiatus. If I wanted to swap to sandy, would I have to start from the lowest rank there? Or would I retain my Iron Emblem of Service II (I want to get a cuch mantle for my mnk's meat build)

if you've never been apart of the sandy[S] ranks then you won't loss any of your medals, it's a free change just have to do the quest.

if you change to a nation[s] you have been before, then you loss your 2 highest medals (and some AN cost)

Who do you talk to to swap back to a nation? After I get a few of these Cobra pieces from Windurst I want to go back to Bastok (where I was originally), whom do I speak to?

I believe it's the same one you started Bastok with in Bastok Markets [S]. In the booth on the left... the one that doesn't have the Campaign Ops NPC. (Sorry for not being more descriptive, at work!)

    Campaign Allegiance

At any given time you may fight for, and be aligned with, only one nation. If you wish to change your allegiance, you must complete the first quest in the WotG missions for that specific nation. Only one nation mission can be completed at a time. If you change allegiance to a different nation, you will keep all of your Allied Notes, Campaign Ops Credits, and your current rank. All progress toward your next rank evaluation will be reset however, as will the duration of your current medal and the time until your next possible rank evaluation (30 and 5 earth days respectively). If returning to a nation you had previously been allied to, you must pay 300 Allied Notes and return your two most recently acquired medals. There is no penalty if you do not have pre-existing medals.

I've had an issue with this, I'm currently allied to Bastok. When I talked to Mainchelite In Sandy about switching nations he said that I had to sever connections with my current nation. I'm completely stumped I've looked all over Bastok for a NPC to do so and I've come up with nothing. Anyone have any ideas?

I do have some generic Bastok quests open, I'll try that and see if it helps. Thanks for the suggestion.

Edit: Ok figured it out, feel kinda silly but hopefully this'll help people with the same problem. I thought it was something to do with the Bastok but actually I had the Windy recruitment quest active from months ago. You can cancel these quests thankfully but only one can be active at the time.

I'd like to know if it's ranks or medals too. I have the highest medal atm, Medal §§. If I switch Nations will I go down to Wings §§§§ or Emblem §§§§?

It's just your top two medals, not ranks.

And you only lose them if you've joined that nation before, first switch to each nation you lose nothing.
