UMPCs
I was looking at UMPCPortal - Ultra Mobile Personal Computing and there's a lot of interesting things there.
Now, technically, this might go in the Laptop sticky, but this isn't about conventional laptops but more about touchscreen tablet mini netbook UMPCs, such as Always Innovating: Introducing the Touch Book or Archos 9 reviews, specifications and community links. .
Anyone have any experience with these, and know of one that has:
Between 8 - 12" screen size, tablet (or hybrid) touchscreen UMPC
Good battery life (over 5 hours with wifi on)
Full web browsing functionality including plugin (especially flash) support
OpenOffice (or equivalent) software
Doesn't take 10 seconds to open an application or document.
The OS can be whatever, as it would primarily be a browsing/document reading/editing supplementary netbook of sorts. But it must have full browsing capability, including good flash support. Not just flash video, but flash anything.
Other capabilities are less important, as I already have a desktop and a laptop that will run circles around anything a UMPC can do. So battery life (over 5 hours), weight (under 3 lbs), compactness (but at least 8") and browsing/plugin (incl. flash) support are the key features here. On a touchscreen tablet UMPC.
Any ideas?
