What makes you change the way you dress?

Now ofcourse people will say "I don't care what I wear/how I look," but I think that is truelly bullshit.

Ofcourse, now that I am 23, I don't wear the same kind of clothes I did when I was 18, mostly.

What makes you change the way you dress? Is it "what's new and happing for the season?" or maybe you just find a "look" or "brand" and start to adapt to it?

Just something a friend and I had talked about, and it got me thinking.

Tastes change, I guess. I usually just tend to look around different brands/styles and pick and choose from what I think looks good. Sometimes you discover new styles/brands (I recently started getting into West coast clothing companies, being from the East coast) and it encourages you to try new things.

I ask friends, whose styles I admire, where they get stuff.

Hmmm, ive pretty much worn loose kaki shorts + a tshirt, or jean pants with a shortsleeve button up collared shirt over a tshirt for about 10 years now.

And then I buy new clothes when the ones I have start to disintegrate. Comfort and laziness ftw.

No clue what makes me dress the way I do. I don't really have anything that is considered "in fashion". I still wear jeans and t shirts from my high school days (24 now) but not so much of the trashier ones. Used to wear this faded D.A.R.E shirt every week at least.....Once you graduate high school unless you are constantly around snobs no one gives a shit what you wear as long as it is occasion appropriate.

Edit: I take that back. people will care if the clothes do not match patterns or the colors do not complement!

I've worn nice clothing for as long as I can remember, I'm the most comfortable when I'm wearing a nice button-up shirt and some nice jeans. Recently I've adopted sweater vests and nice sweaters over button-ups into my attire and have received nothing but positive praises about it. I simply look good and feel good in them. I don't enjoy looking like a slob, because otherwise I can admit I'm not incredibly attractive, so I wear nice clothes to compensate. Nice clothes and smelling good ftw.

Most important thing to me. I like to feel good in my clothes. I wont wear something if I feel awkward or it's out of place. Feel good as in I feel good in it, not it feels good on me. Fucking wool...

Also, I wont EVER be afraid to wear something in case it gets ruined. I have an expensive pair of shoes that I wear everywhere. If I am paying a lot of money for something, I'm going to get lots of use out of it.

I hate when people are like "oh my God you stepped on my shoes, they're Prada blah blah blah."

Shoes are shoes are shoes. You wear them, they get stepped on, salted on, muddied.

I dont think it really matters as long as it looks good on the person. A properly matched attire (whatever the hell that constitutes) can look horrible.

May be viewed as pretentious, but wearing something like Jcno jeans when you're in college or above is terrible. You should 100% dress to reflect your age, at the very least.

also depends on where you live.

i live in an area where 77 degrees is considered cold and we pull out our turtlenecks for it. so just because ill rock out a black wife beater/dickie jean shorts and some low tops doesnt mean i would be wearing that on a job interview or a 1st date at a steakhouse. its comfortable, its not manslutty, and you can walk/run/jog in it and be ok throughout all of em.
