    BSOD Help!

My computer just randomly shuts down and gives me a blue screen
It doesnt matter if its sitting there idly, browsing the web, or playing FFXI. Its pretty much completely random on when it does it. Sometimes it crashes before windows even gets to load. Other times its within 30 seconds, others its days between crashes. Its highly aggravating trying to figure it out on my own.

    Stuff to note.
No recent hardware or software installations.
    Crashes in safe mode.
No yellow question marks in device manager.

I've followed their on screen suggestions and I've disabled caching. No idea if it saved though because the comp froze on me the first time, then the second time it exited (after save + exit) and did nothing else.... Havent bothered messing with BIOS ever since cause..... well thats foreign territory and I dont wanna mess with something when I have no idea exactly what it is I'm doing.

Anyways, heres the juicy gibberish that makes no sense to me.

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    Technical info:
    STOP: 0x0000000A (0x5089A0C1, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x80500F8E)

(Physical Memory dump info here, basically telling me its completed the dump)

Ninja edit: I will copy/paste the only Event Viewer error I got for today(as soon as the comp stays on long enough) . Also note, its not in the system section, but in the applications section

Might be bad ram. I had that problem a few years ago with an older build.... Turns out it was a bad stick of ram.

Where do I go on my PC to find out what kind of motherboard I have and how much ram it can handle?

You can download a program named Everest. Everest can run reports on your system and tell you what motherboard/hardware you have, then you can google the motherboard and find out the max ram it can handle. I have a zipped Everest Ultimate Edition w/serial # but it's about 10mb and have no ftp or anything so I'm not sure how I can get it to you.

Yeah, I did some snooping around on the comp and found out what kind of MB I have and then googled it to see its capabilities. And as for the Memory tester, it aint working for me, I've DL'd it and then burned it to a CD, only now its not reading it. Oh well, I'm heavily leaning towards tossing the comp in a forgotten corner and going out to buy a laptop. I'll save the fix for a rainy day (aka when I dont feel like taking a hammer to it) lol

Assuming you have multiple sticks in there you can try the old trial and error method. Further assuming there's two sticks yank one out and run it with just one stick. If the PC BSOD's take that one out and replace it with the other one. Hopefully, it will run fine with one of the sticks and you can determine which one is fried and which one is OK.
