    Big Bomb solo

It is well known that Avesta has solo'ed Big Bomb but I haven't found any other documented solo kills of BB. Has anyone attempted or successfully solo'ed BB on other jobs?

The only other job I could see soloing it is nin. I'm not sure if /dnc /whm or /rdm would be best. If you sub dnc idt you can get enough fire resistance to resist Firaga III. Plus recovering from -ga and AoE tp moves would be difficult. If you sub rdm you gain barfire which would give you enough fire resistance to resist firaga. Enfeebs may land a little easier and you get fast cast and phalanx. Phalanx as /rdm would absorb like 8 damage almost enough to negate the 9-13 damage from blaze spikes. But then you don't have erase to remove burn from heat wave. As /whm you lose phanalx and fast cast but gain erase. Maybe /rdm or /whm, don't engage it, use hq staves, and spin the ni wheel to maximize damage per tp gain would be best.

    Any helpful thoughts or ideas?

Does Remedy remove Burn? That could be an option with the RDM sub.

It does not, but Panacea should.

Other than RDM your best bet would probably be NIN/DNC. Healing Waltz for Burn.

If i remember correctly, with Kurayami and an average evasion build his accuracy isn't great. Isn't immune to Para or Slow, so Hojo and Jubaku are both valid to.

Won't want to WS due to growth, i think at full size it can hit like a truck full of trucks.

Vulcanian Impact fucking hurts, not sure if NIN/DNC would be able to keep up with the damage from that and Firaga III although I'd love to see it done. An MDB build would serve you better solo than a fire resist setup since you lack Barfira or Carol.

I've been thinking about this for a while, using my experience from duoing thf+rdm
His acc isnt amazing, but shit can go bad, very fast.
He's moderatly resistant to general enfeebles so I wouldnt try this without at least 300+ ninjutsu skill.

I'm still missing a couple of things that I want before I give it a serious attempt though, namely Ermine's Tail, Narigitsune and Red mage above lv35.

/rdm sub would be best because of the fastcast, dispel and EN-FIRE.

My general strat would be to melee it down, using energy steal/drain to help with mp (I know it wont give much though). You want to avoid making it grow at all costs, because it unlockes heat wave when it's size increases.
Not quite sure how I'd deal with the last 30% but it would probably involve trying to zerg the last few % with Jin > I-wing > Jin

If you sub rdm you gain barfire which would give you enough fire resistance to resist firaga. Enfeebs may land a little easier and you get fast cast and phalanx.
How exactly does /rdm change the resist rates of Ninjutsu enfeebles?
From your post, I'd guess you've never actually faught him?

guess here, but the couple of points of INT from /rdm? i dunno if INT even affects ninjitsu.

It's going to be such a marginal difference that it's not going to factor into why you should sub RDM. INT effects the Magic Acc slightly, but doesn't effect the potency.

No. Barfire from rdm main doesn't change anything on normal even match bombs. According to magic evasion tests, you need 150 resist to resist half of the spell and 230-240 to totally resist them, which means you start seeing resists at ~100. Now what you suggests is /rdm so much less fire resist than rdm and big bomb which is a NM and has probably higher magic accuracy than NQ bombs even match ...

It´s already an accomplishment to solo the PHs as NIN. I´d say Big Bomb will fuck you up royally

If you full-on DD them, sure. You wouldn't treat Big Bomb the same way you'd treat Lanterns, but I agree that Big Bomb would probably fuck up anything bar RDM/NIN solo.

You'd need something along the lines of this:
    http://www.ffxiah.com/item_sets.php?id=119090

With Yonin, it's over +120 evasion (not including skill) assuming Yonin is +30 evasion.
    Koga legs at night, obviously.

Gnole crown or optical hat are going to be better options for head piece. You're gonna want to eat sushi and idle in 2x wivre +1 rings also. Emissary boots or whatever they're called will also benefit you more.

In terms of weapon I'd say that the katana you have for mainhand is nice, but from experience you're gonna want 2x mamushito +1 for something like this.

Don't underestimate the importance of a waltz build either for NIN soloing. 10 hp increase per cure over the course of a long fight is going to make a world of difference should shit go south.

Would a well equipped RDM/NIN be able to straight tank this? Full PDR/MDR sets

Big Bomb is immune to Stun.

Big Bomb is immune to stun so mams are useless.
Emissary boots are going to give much less evasion than hachiryu. There's also speculation that straight +evasion is better than evasion skill vs high level NMs.
Gnole crown is also less evasion than NIN AF head+1. Ohat may be a better choice with the accuracy, I still havent finalised a build that I'd use as I'm still missing a few pieces.

Wivre+1 rings are going to be a sidegrade at best and a waste at worst. I'd sooner take 10 acc and 5 subtile blow than 6 eva. You really cant underestimate Subtle blow in a fight like this, as the TP moves can really fuck you up.

my Waltz set is this: http://www.ffxiah.com/item_sets.php?id=115606
I obviously dont use seashell on NIN. I got 172 before I got the kyhan last night, so I think it goes up to 174 or 175.

However, I think /rdm is a better sub for this fight. Blaze spikes is going to a serious amount of damage to a dual wielder.

Big Bomb is a beast. and when you go so slow (no WS) you have to worry about limited fighting space due to pops around the area

Repops are 16mins, which is enough time to kill a few bombs to clear a path to a safe location.
