On March 9, 1997, Wallace was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles.

I always find it hard to say who the best rapper/MC is but Biggie will always be my favorite storyteller. I respect and admire a lot of hip hop stars but Biggie was one you liked, as a person. I don't care too much for many celebrities but his death was one of the more sad ones, what a waste.
