cpu usage spiking up lately

Hey guys, so i have noticed lately that during my usual browsing my cpu usage is higher than normal. Especially when i go on justintv a site i frequently visit, i have noticed it being in the 60-70%ish and when i look at task manager the culprit seems to be plugin container for firefox. So i disabled most if not all plugins i had and its still happening.

btw if it helps i have a 2.2ghz 4gb ram sony vaio vgnnw20sf

what plugins are you using on that website? are all the plugins used on that site up to date? does this happen if you use another browser?

Plugin container has been shit for awhile, it does the same on OSX, and it's still there even in Firefox4 beta3.

It was implemented to prevent Flash taking Firefox down with it when it crashes, but it just ended up making the browser slower for me when anything Flash is involved, and Flash itself is a shitload more crash prone in this new setup.

um, its a streaming website so i guess it uses flash and quicktime. They are up to date and i dont have any other browser downloaded only one i like is firefox

Download HijackThis, run it and post the logfile.

Does the video from the site still play?

yeah it does i disabled all the unessecary plugins that arent needed for the video to play and it doesnt seem to make a differance
