Vacation time! Corpus Cristi/S. Padre Island Suggestions?

Headed to Texas with my gf for a cheap vaca by the ocean. Going to see me Ma in Denton, then head to the beach for 4 days. Anyone been there and have suggestions on what do other then pass the fuck out, beer in hand, on the beach each night?

Dont go in the water, its too cold. And stay the fuck away from Mexico. Charlie's was always a fun place to drink. Just chill on the beach, enjoy the scenery. Have fun, I'm jealous.

Currently working down here until May. Outside of beer and hitting up concerts and goings at Brewster street Ice house downtown, there isnt much to do. The Lexington is pretty cool if you are into military and history. But if you are heading out to the island, you will see a restaurant called "Snoopy's" off to the right once you cross the JFK Causeway (HUEG as fuck BRIDGE), that is a huge must eat. Fantastic laid back atmosphere, can sit on the water and eat and has the best Fish and Chips in the fucking states. Mahi, Fries and homemade coleslaw will seriously make you bust one.

the way i figured, Spi is greater then Galveston which is better then CC but hotels around galveston are more expensive.

I actually like Galveston more, but I havent been since it got Hurricaned. SPI is fun.

Just be careful at night, Corpus is full of wannabe gangsta vatos that think they are the hot shit. Think little Mexican Oddjobs running around with blades instead of hats, trying to steal your radio and shit.

Oh and another thing is that they have the Aquarium down town too if you like that sort of thing. Since Corpus is literally ON the fucking water they array a sea life they have is astonishing. The dolphin shows are made of win and they have few restaurants near it, mainly Blackbeards that have been featured on food network and that are really really good to eat at as well. Im not just trolling when I say it sucks, trust me, been living here for 16 months and thankfully my sentence is almost up.

One nice thing is that my building I am working at is literally a 6 min walk from the ocean Oh and fucking Selena and Freddie Fender are gods here since they were born and died here. So statues, murals and all sorts of shit honoring them along Shoreline drive. It fucking blows bro, stay the fuck away. Or atleast stay on the beach if do you come.

galveston is a dirty shithole the only good place in texas is austin. texas beaches are like if mud, sargasm and jellifish mated and made a hideous monster baby. lived in texas for 27 years, i hate every other city aside from austin, which i fucking love, except the traffic

SPI can be fun but beware of theft. When I went a few years back, people's cell phones, credit cards, purses, food, all types of shit would come up mising if you turned your head for a second. Spring Break for schools in Texas is going on this week and next so take note of that. Bring some comfortable walking shoes because you're going to be walking up and down the strip to get around. Too crowded to take a car everywhere and parking spots will be scarce. Not to mention the idiots that ran around down there damaging cars and stealing from them if you leave it unattended too long.
