However apparently everyone else sees it in jpn text now

Well.. yeah using new windower. But it was fine yesterday - just today I woke up and I was DC'd, logged back and everything was JP. Something about not being able to read and write? I can't quite make it out.

I had the same exact problem. All I did was restart POL and it worked fine.

I had the exact same problem. It must have something to do with the new windower. I just restarted and everything was fine.

Cliff is a fuck head, I had this version of this windower, about 8 months ago. I told him about this bug and he never fixed it.

Anyway, all your auto-translates get fucked up if you log off your character in any way. To fix this you need to restart the windower entierly. So say you log off, select different character, login. Auto trans. is fucked. Say FFXI crashes to POL you press play and login, your auto trans is fucked.

Only way to fix it is restart windower entierly.

note: this is how the bug worked 8 months ago, from enitus post, it sounds like it's the same bug.

I tried to translate what it says, since I don't think it's an actual phrase JP players see.

It seems to say something about being unable to read the Dictionary, perhaps it means "Unable to locate Autotranslate Dictionary"
