hmmm, for all around confrontations people are saying Australian SAS or the Delta force. But personally id say U.S. NAVY SEALS... since they have the hardest training out of all of them... whats your view?
oh yea forgot about the English SAS!

um. I work with someone who's an ex-seal. Best stories I've ever heard.
Fuck you and your god damn pussy seals.Originally Posted by David
Its Delta force or Force Recon. Navy seals are AWESOME... for about 2-3 days. Delta force or Force Recon will do the same job, for 3 months at a time. Power + Endurance > Holding breath really well.
but are they spartans?
French Foreign Legion is pretty good too, because France can do w/e the hell they want with them without any backlash from the French because they're not actually French (from France) they're just outsiders wanting to get a new start.

when it comes to under-water demolition, and water-recon...nothing can beat the seals...these guys not only own the water but they have the worlds best trained snipers. Including the fact that over a 100 countries are accesible by waterOriginally Posted by Neosutra

But seriously, each branch/nation has its perks and down sides, but I would still have to side with Force Recon and Delta for the sheer endurance of their missions. Besides, not many seals in iraq atm.
French Foreign Legion is what they send in the moment they have a problem, bad situation in a country in Africa and there's french people in trouble? That's right without a thought they get sent in to get them out.
Oh and at one point they were seperate from the other military in that they operated basically completely on their own, sometime in past they didn't like whoever came to power and they attempted a coup Unsuccessfully and have since gone under the presidents control but still, when your special forces says "we don't like who's in charge, we're gonna take him out" that's pretty funny.

In reality I have no idea, they're all pretty badass but this thread made me think of this pic.
The British SAS has probably the longest history/experience in "special forces" types of missions. The U.S. special forces by comparison is fairly new. Dunno if that means they are the "best" though.
And I dont think the U.S. has the toughest training out there. U.S. forces may be some of the best equipped and trained in general, but in other countries, like Russia, they do some pretty disgusting and brutal shit to their special forces trainees.
???????? ???????????????? ?????????????
Thats the thing though, Spetsnaz only know how to get in, kill and get out...That isnt what special forces are about lol...theres other things like Recon, demolition and hostage rescue which they all suck ballz in, whats the point of making a killer machine when he cant even save his people. SEALS were one of the first to get into Iraq to gather intel and hot-spots, right now its mostly Green berets and Delta for Insurgents and CQC.
Check this out, each branch has its own Spec ops like.
Army = Green Beret, Force Recon
NAVY = SEALS (DUH) - UDT
AIR FORCE = Para-troopers (these are the dudes who are gonna get your back, most respected Spec ops in the military...they put their lives on the line everyday to get down soldies, got to give them grats.
and then you got the delta force, which isnt part of any branch, instead you got to apply and they decide whether or not your good enough. unlike the rest, plus once you become a delta you dont have to take crap from any1, no shave head, and dress how you like on military grounds...talk about priveledges!
America still goes to Israel for training, take that for what it's worth
Id doubt that very much, do you have proof to back it up? cause i know first hand, each spec op is trained in the USA, Training in Israel? Their intel could be compromised and their methods can be leaked, especially in such a hostile area...Originally Posted by residue
For american special forces, I would currently have to say Delta Force.
Para-Troopers are one of my favorites still, mostly because they do alot of the dirty work to save other fallen soldiers.
Green Berets have a nice historical background about thier work from the previous wars.
Navy Seals have always interested me, they get the job done no matter what. The only thing is ive heard they only bring equipment thats needed for the mission. Something goes wrong and thier mission changes they are usually SOL when it comes to equipment.
Best special forces would have to be Ninjas. When's the last time you've heard anything real about ninjas?
That's right, they're so damned good you haven't heard anything about em.
Most definately the SAS.

I would have to go with Navy Seals, and that they are more of a "All-Purpose" unit. I believe Green Beret are more specialized in guerrilla warfare tactics these days. Army Rangers are pretty good as well.
But my all-time favorit
