ok, i DID search, but i didnt want to necro a topic from january. i was planning on burning my BS on the Kraken BC60. i have PLD, DRK, MNK to use. My GF, only has DRK. is it still possible to do? is DRK even good in that BC? What job would be a good 3rd (if possible)? Ive done it before with PLD. (i also have my brother's account he has a 75RDM... 0/3 so far... and 260 BS to go)

You can win with PLD, RDM, and pretty much any DD. RNG is great, MNK too, BLM as well (duh). DRK should be ok.

will be a fun fight you might not win your first try but I'm pretty sure that with your pld, the rdm and the drk that you could definitely pull it off. If things get kinda iffy you can always sleep/ Gravity it and recover. The only thing that I imagine will be detrimental to your success is the AOE spin and thats not so bad to deal with. If your GF plays drk smartly and doesn't sponge mp it'll be fine.

I don't have any exact numbers, but not hard at all.

I did this a long time ago, BLM PLD RDM, and I remember laughing at my damage taken, wearing AF and whatever I had lying around for other slots.

Side note, BST friends are 1/25, capped my club in about 2 hours.

Unblocked, Fe'e hits me for between 60-85 damage, usually around the 70 dmg mark. I haven't parsed this, though, I just looked over some video I Frapsed from the fight. I was wearing AF, AF sword (lulz) and TK Shield, by the way, with not much else in the other gear slots. I /names and remove chat log from all my raw footage that I take to make vids, so I didn't have much of the chat logs in there. I also have 4 shield merits, so am blocking a large part of the time.

I usually do this BCNM with PLD BLU WHM. Without Refresh we sometimes run low on MP when it's at the 15-20% mark, at which point the BLU usually sleeps it (without problems) and the mages rest up a bit, before we finish it off. The first time we did it was with WHM PLD DD (can't recall what job, but know it was not an MP user).

Hold up, you mean it actually drops? From people I know all our runs combined we're like 0/60 easily. I thought it was just a way for SE to make us toss our seals without actually tossing them.

I usually use Sentinel right at the beginning, just to save MP since we never have refresh. Strictly speaking, though? No, you don't need to. I also tend to use Invincible for hate (since hate goes wonky at the end), but don't really need to use that either.

You definitely will want a RDM with that set up. He doesn't hit hard (at first) but once he starts losing limbs, he hits slower and harder, and once all limbs are gone, TP regen.

Overall, it's pretty easy, though. I've beaten it handily with little trouble with PLD, RDM, DRK. (I've used NIN too, but I like PLD here better. A lot of it's moves lower down bypass shadows ).

Basically, just kite the mob around, keep gravity on. Have the DRK/nin (in case you pull hate) DD the thing while it walks. You can DoT it, but I'd suggest stopping DoTs once it hits a certain point, so you have the option of sleeping it. you will probably need to sleep it at least once (It builds up resistance) so the RDM can rest.

DRK should stun as often as he can, it really does help keep things smooth, and just DD it. It works well, you can take off HP pretty quickly, if your 60 capped gear is good.

RDM needs to help nuke (especially when the last limb is gone), and basically just gravity + cure. Be careful on the kite path, you don't want the RDM to get hit by stray AoE.

well, for pld, pretty much AF is what i got... unless i rock DD PLD gear (haub+1, etc) bibiki sea shell will do nice in there my GFs DRK is pretty well equipped. but my RDM doesnt even have a wind staff lol. AF, that low level +3MND +5mp belt, my astral/ether, moldivite earring ;/ didnt have a problem sticking sleep and gravity and dispel at all though. would you recommend dual boxing? or should i just get someone to play as the RDM?

@100 Fe'e hits fast but low damage but @40%, he hits slow but hard. I'm bst/whm and I get hit for 600 when it is @40%.

edit: it could be 600 because of double attack but I don't remember.

AF on PLD should be np. DRK in good DD gear will just make it faster (we usually did in 7-9 mins, so I'm sure if it isn't perfect, you'll have time to make it up), and help quicken his TP spam mode.

I'd probably avoid dual boxing if possible; it might be difficult kiting + doing everything you need to on RDM (you also have to watch RDM positioning, Maelstrom is dangerous), but I'm sure it's possible. I'd also want at least some reasonable gear, Fe'e builds resistance to debuffs, and you don't wanna lose 60 BS because it started to resist a little too early. As well, the RDM will want some okay nuking gear, as he really helps quicken the end part.

Once you get that groove, it's not too hard, though. First time we won, we did it in about 11 mins, and after that the times just got faster.

Group 2 is like 0/15 atm, almost everyone in my social has BST75 and TONs of seals to burn.

i know i've asked this before, but i don't think i've ever seen any definitive answers. is there a reliable estimate on the drop rate of the club from this BC? i know of only 1 person ever to get the drop from this BC on my server. in addition, if the drop rate were more than negligible, i'd expect to see a lot more references on the "dorp" thread. i'm trying to calculate what BS is the best money/seal since i'm almost done lvling bst and am sitting on over 4 stacks of BS i need to dispose of, but i can't figure out an expected value on the club bc if i don't know the odds on the jackpot.

Did this yesterday for the first time with friends.. We went PLD WHM SAM and I switched out with the boyfriend for PLD WHM DRK. We found the easiest thing was Hobaku/Stun Ink Jet as much as possible, PLD using Sentinel / Spartan Hopleland (sp) [cause he had one lying around] for the first 50%. We then had the WHM Repose at 50%, most just as a courtesy sleep since we had no refresh. Once the bugger woke up I'd take over as melee jerk and just kill him dead. Worked like a charm with both SAM and DRK as the DD.

For purely making money, you're probably best off doing Under Observation.
You won't make as much as getting a KClub, but the odds are much higher that you'll at least come out of it with a decent chunk of gil, using 400 seals.

The guys in my LS aren't gonna sell the clubs, they just like messin around with them. 8)

some other less traditional ones, i forget, anyway, with grav this thing is cake (even if ur not manaburning it)

keep in mind it hits harder as its hp goes lower iirc (cant recall from experience since things never get harry with 2 sleeps, grav bind etc) only trouble i had was when one of the blms got lazy and forgot to med during the sleep haha, so manafont sleep/cure or w/e and done
