    Asus P4PE-X ethernet drivers

My friends mother board is an Asus PePE-X motherboard, and I can't seem to find the damn right ethernet driver for it.

I reformatted my friends computer thinking I found the drivers for his audio and ethernet for his motherboard. The audio ones worked, but not the ethernet ones, I am at a lost here. He got the computer 4.5 years ago and doesn't have any of the cd's but I have done this many times before and have always been able to find the drivers, even on ancient computers. I downloaded the ones from the asus site, and there is no install launcher in there. I don't know how to install those drivers if those are even the right drivers.

If anyone could point me in the right direction of give me some help, I would greatly appreciate it.

What operating system is he using? My old computer had windows xp on it and my motherboard was the p4pe-bp and I never had to install ethernet drivers they were just automatically detected by windows and installed that way.

I will check when I get home and see if I still have any of the drivers though or CDs.

His came with the drivers, but he never got the cd's with his comp, he got it a shady way, but when you reformat, you need to isntall the drivers for the computer to use the ethernet audio etc

    Re: Asus P4PE-X ethernet drivers

Ok, his dad found the driver discs and I got the internet working, and we bought a new video card to install. His motherboard can only support DDR1 ram, and we accidently bought an agp 512mb DDR2 video card. We couldn't get it to work, and I'm assuming if the motherboard can't use DDR2 for ram, it can;t use DDR2 for a video card. I just want to know if thats the problem so we can go return it tomorrow.

good assumption but not true; if the video card is compliant with the slot type (agp x4 x8, pci-e) it doesn't matter what type of memory it has, it'll still work.

it definately fits into the agp slot, and I plug in the extra power for it also, but when I boot up, nothing comes onto the screen. The computer still boots up because i hear the windows music but I never get any thing to appear on the screen.

We have tried with no drivers in, drivers in before we boot up with the new card in.

try installing the drivers for it before hand and then turning off the onboard video through CMOS

    God I hate this motherboard!!!!!!

They put the agp slot so close to the ram slots, and he was only using 2 out of 3 of them. So, when the third ram clip was down, it just slightly blocked the video card making it appear to be all the way in, but only being slightly missing being all the way in.....
