    "Professional" Wrestling

I know there were some wrestling fans here, the huge Chris Benoit thread sort of showed that. I didn't want to necrobump it, especially because it should stay dead.

I use to love the 97-98 era of WCW, WWF, and ECW. I don't watch the crap that WWE regurgitates on TV lately, especially that disgraceful shitty ECW on the air too. Ugh it has really gone down the drain.

I miss the nWo terrorizing WCW and being this insane gang of thugs jumping everyone and "taking over" the company. Although D-Generation X seemed like a big ripoff, I really liked them a lot too in 97, they did things a lot differently so it wasn't so obvious.

ECW man.. I could go on forever. RVD and Sabu matches were beyond epic. Everything about the ECW was so raw and fresh.

    ROFL

I only really cared for wrestling when I was little. They really try too hard nowadays with the soap-opera storyline garbage. I blame the lazy producers and writers, cause most of the new "characters" that I see when my lil bro watches it are just plain sad. With that said, Rey Mysterio is the only semi-entertaining dude that I can name off the top of my head.

I watched it a loooooooong time ago. Doink and dink the clowns lol. Kevin Nash is a really strait up guy (and fucking huge) in real life. I sat next to him on a plane and aggravated him for a couple of hours when I was a kid. Some of my favorite moments from when I watched it.

WWE scheduling a venue in the same city as WCW on a monday night, and DX drove a tank to their venue to pester their fans.

Shane McMahon jumping like 50 foot off the titantron onto the big show.

Most anything in which shawn michaels was involved.

    Mick Foley's cage matches.

The first Monday night that Jim Ross came back after the Bell Palsy leave.

I was a huge Dwayne Johnson fan and was happy to see him get into movie roles.

    Re: "Professional" Wrestling

I missed Monday night wrestling when you would always be like "OMG RAW IS COMING ON TONIGHT OMG I HAVE TO WATCH!" Or "OMG NITRO IS COMING ON TONIGHT MUST WATCH!" Today, wrestling is like "Oh wow, Raw is coming on tonight...and I have nothing better to do, I gueeeeeeeeeeeessssssss I'll watch...." Wrestling back then....you didn't care if you had a family member who died or had to go to a huge party, if Raw or Nitro was on, that was the only thing in life that mattered.

I always was a WCW fan and loved the hell out of Nitro. I would occasionally watch Raw but I stuck with Nitro pretty much.

I quit watching wrestling for awhile after WWF bought out WCW. In early 2002 back when it was still WWF, I started watching it a little, then it went to WWE and got shitty.

    Bring back WCW vs. WWF!

Rock/Stone Cold/Triple H/Goldberg era was awesome as shit. Everything from kids talking about it in lunch at school, during class, after class, the various Smackdown games; which all sucked, but it was fucking wrestling!

After grammar school and Rock moving onto movies, I just lost interest. He was pretty much the sole reason I watched it.

Oh man I was a huge wrestling fan back in elementary school and into grade 7. Shawn Michaels remains my favorite wrestler of all time, with a Austin in a close second. However, once I learned it was truly fake and it was all story (I refused to believe otherwise when I was really into it), I just stopped watching. I still enjoy to this day going back and watching old clips, but I don't enjoy watching anything post-'02.

    Re: "Professional" Wrestling

I used to watch wrestling every week until TSN dropped it after the Edge-Lita "live sex" celebration. ;( I really hated Cena, I wish they hadn't kept the belt on him so long. Q_Q He got so stale, compared to the great times of DX, Stone Cold, the Ministry, the Rock, etc. Oh well, it's what happens when you have a monopoly in the market. :\

I stopped paying attention to wrestling in general after the Benoit thing, but I used to be really into following indy wrestling and the big Japanese companies. I still read the news sites, but I haven't watched an actual match in over a year.

Shit, now I miss it. >_> Maybe I'll watch the backlog of stuff I have.

WWE has pretty much sucked ever since the RAW/SD split. I still watched it after that, I stopped watching completely about a year ago though... it has become too retarded for my tastes.

speaking of Lita. This is her band and her on vocals, I'm a fan of wrestling but this new stuff is not as good as back in the day. Shoot I still remember the whole Killer Bees and British bulldogs. And can some one help me out. >.>

wut was the name of that wrestling movie that had Roddy piper and a skinny Fatu as a wrestling tag team that toured with a "metal" band.

    k.

Anyway yeah HBK ruled. I loved it when he was a heel, he was such a cocky asshole. Actually all good guys that turned into badguys were pretty awesome. Minus Bret Hart, dude just turned into a fucking whiny bitch.

Talking about Hulk Hogan turning into Hollywood Hogan and forming the nWo, basically his first "evil" sort of character in his career which almost led to the WCW burying the WWF in 97' in terms of sales and fan reception.
