Meteor and Mijin Gakure

Meteor as we all know is non-elemental, but long-time speculation is that Mijin Gakure is also non-elemental. This I believe. Regardless, does anyone have any proof or has any testing been done proving or disprooving that Mijin is non-elemental?

Also, PLD merit ability Fealty; by how much on average are PLDs reporting the damage decrease for these two spells with it active? Thanks.

Fealty basically guarantees a 1/16 resist, mijin is nonelemental, fin.

Seen some e-peen screenshots of mijin on Tiamat.
I think thats a pretty good indication that mijin is non-elemental.

The ultimate test can be done by using Mijin against Ifrit Prime, but anyway yeah, pretty sure it's non-elemental.

I guess the few times I've used barfira and noticed lower damage are coincidence and I would have resisted anyway then.

When I used to think kitsutsuki was worth camping, I soul voiced fire carol and did barfire on my brd mule in addition to tping in water belt and suzy sune-ate and still died if it went off early.. if ~250 resist isn't enough to resist from a level 65 NM then odds are it isn't fire based, and if it is then nothing you do is going to make shit all difference on dyna or limbus mobs.

They do, it's easy to see who has or doesn't have shell if you screw up a mijin in dyna ;o

Sadly I still see this and "let THF kill guys!" perpetuated to this day, despite what we now know. Some dumbasses raged KA the other day because they took ~20 minutes to bring it to 1% and then decided to let their THF plink away at that last bit.

Whenever I do Dynamis and a Ninja mob is being fought, I Barfira my party. Gakure looks like fire and Barfira is cheap to cast, so I do it. No harm, no foul. The mobs have Mijin Gakured on occasion and I've always noticed that my party takes slightly less damage almost every time. That by itself isn't enough but there have been times when only my party has taken a very small percentage of damage compared to the entire linkshell. Like everyone in my party at 75-80% and the rest of the shell at 10-15% or dead.

Could be coincidence.

Not sure about MDB but -%/Shell do for sure, I always bring my magic reduction set and Mijin rarely even breaks my Stoneskin.

Somewhat related, without any barspells I do notice that I seem to partially resist Mijin frequently, moreso than most of the alliance, not sure exactly what the cause is though.

do you have bar spell merits? those add MDB

There is that as well, like with Hurricane Wing I believe that it can't resist with Baraero, however the MDB from Blessed Briault/merits will still cut the damage.

MDB does not reduce Mijin damage, Shell and other sources of -magic damage taken do.
